A few years ago, with the typical algorithm search, I would put words into Google, something magic would happen, and then a list of websites would appear. Now it's 2026, we've got AI, so I put words into Google, something magic happens, and then a list of websites appears. Seems basically the same to me. Can someone gently and kindly explain why the older magic was okay, but the new AI magic has everyone so pussyfaced?

>>109630400The old Google search wasn't magic. It worked like a computer is supposed to: it did exactly what you told it to do; nothing more, nothing less. You would search for words separated by spaces, and it would find websites that contain those words. You would put quotes on phrases, and it would find websites that contain exactly that phrase.
