NTA, but TC in "cities with a tech presence" as you put it (which is basically only SF and Seattle, because every large city has some tech presence so I assume you mean a big tech city) is 200-300k usd average for a mid level position (5 yoe), rent is $3k a month, most people get around 4 weeks paid vacation per year + 10 federal holidays, health insurance is like $150 a month if you're employed with any normal company, and very few people work more than 50 hours a week, I'd say most work closer to 40 or 45.
So basically you make like 1/4 of what an American tech worker makes. Personally, I'd rather just retire 25 years earlier with my extra savings, but maybe you genuinely like to live in the moment so much that that tradeoff is worth it to you
