Hello, anon. When I made the switch to Linux Mint, I didn't look back. Things are pretty good over here. I'm not sure if I'd throw the "superior" label on it but for me, it just works. I like it. What are your thoughts on Linux and the various distributions?

The funniest thing is corporations literally make bank off of Linux behind the scenes, so it isn't some magical middle finger to big corporations. The fragmentation can be an issue for some, especially if you don't have the discipline to stay focused or know when to stop customizing and start doing your work. Once you get accustomed to Linux, you can start using some of the more 'big boy' distributions like Gentoo. I wouldn't call them viable for daily use, but if that is your type of thing, you'll fit right on in.It sort of just depends on what you value from Linux. As a Linux user myself, I only occasionally use Linux. I started using Windows again. Possibly somewhere in your Linux journey you may or may not encounter limitations with the operating system. Linux is good, but just like you, I never labeled it superior.I can't give you an objective view on Linux. If you want to discover more, all I can tell you is to try out some different Linux distributions sometimes. You can use a virtual machine for testing if you want to stay on Linux Mint. If you ever get interested in Unix, you can also try out some BSD-family operating systems. Enjoy what you have on Linux, cherish it, and don't be afraid to try some other things Linux has to offer. Linux has all sorts of cool open-source applications and culture. Linux isn't just one big operating system. The Linux kernel is *one* thing, but *Linux* in general are many things; you have to find what works for you. I'll give you my personal operating system recommendation if you ever want to test it: Zorin OS. I used it once before but didn't really like it since I wasn't looking for Linux to be familiar like Windows or Mac, but if that is what you're looking for, you can test it.
