My social media site:>only takes a second to register, doesnt even require an email>nobody registersTiktok and other social media sites>forces you to register just to view content. the whole site is gatekept>registration takes an hour and requires your phone number etc.>people dont even hesitate, they just register immediatelyMy social media:>super lightweight, no bloat, runs on devices 20 years old, fixing the e-waste problem and planned obsolence>people crinkle their noses at your sustainable siteTiktok and other social media:>updates itself every 2 years for no other reason than to implement new bloat that requires people to get a new phone>people just get the phone and act like it's no biggieMy social media:>doesn't addict you at all, has no algorithm, has no adverse effects on your mental health >people crinkle their noses at your "shit site that is not entertaining"Tiktok and other social media:>has rewired the brains of a billion children and ruined society. people cheer and want more.
>>109638679Yeah, people would rather eat shit than use untrusted social media.
>>109638679It's not 1998 anymore, what you're doing is analogous to cooking up burgers in your backyard and saying you're going to take down McDonalds with it. Even if the product is better it's far, far too late to enter that space.
>>109638679social media is unc shit now you're 15 years too late
>>109638727>untrustedFunny how the definition of trusted is a Chinese spyware propaganda machine that says on their front page they dont respect GDPR
>>109638679>forces you to register just to view content. the whole site is gatekeptTo combat botting and scrapers.>registration takes an hour and requires your phone number etc.Only if you're on a proxy/vpn. Do you expect them to trust some guy hiding behind 20 different VPNs?
Tiktok and other social media sites force you to register an account to view contentAnd people just obey and create an accountI dunno why
>>109638875And?
>>109638679OP normalfags do not care about privacy or anonymity, at all. All they care about is whether or not a social platform is>entertainingWhat makes it entertaining? So, firstly you obviously need people. It's not fun at all if your site has no userbase. Secondly, you need to provide interaction. Nobody gives a shit about genuinely communicating with each other. We have email and IRC if you just want that. People instead want specific interaction >bragging about things so they feel better than others>complaining about things and feeling that people care>having sour grapes about not having a wife/husband and being spiteful towards people that do>being a contrarian and hating popular things because it makes them feel special >attacking others over unimportant things >getting into meaningless arguments that change nothing and people respond to each other until the other dies >shitposting >having all of their opinions validated ("hugbox") >seeing "content" where people are beaten (streetfights), humiliated (cringe comps/freakouts), or provide drama >etc. You get the point. Social media is NOT for communication, it is instead communication used to provide ENTERTAINMENT where you gratify people's most banal, lowly, and pathetic social desires in hopes of passing their time. People want it because real life socialization doesn't provide them with this, and they want it to pass the time because attention spans are gone and if someone has to think about their life for 5 seconds they immediately want to kill themselves. These things don't matter:>only takes a second to register, doesn't require an email>super lightweight, no bloat, runs on devices 20 years old, fixing the e-waste problem>doesn't addict you at all, has no algorithm, has no adverse effects on your mental healthyou NEED algorithms, you NEED to addict your users, and you should not care about their mental health. Social media is a business, not a charity.
>>109638727You mean like you're doing now?
>>109638727This >>109638734And this.Sorry OP.If it makes you feel better I invested over 2 years of my life into a similar platform. No algos. Customizable RSS feeds. Had a cross platform client app with voice chat that worked on Windows and partially on Linux, and it worked in most regular browsers. PGP and AES features built in to the app. I even shilled it here a bit during some of the Discord fiasco. At the end of the day people just stick with what everyone else uses.
>>109638679Just post the website already
>>109640693>no algoswhy do you guys keep doing this? You need to give dopamine to users or they'll leave.
>>109641239Going to be made illegal soon. No point.
