I've been planning on getting a good watch now that I'm old enough to need to dress up for a lot of events and travel to places where watches get worn. Only problem is I'm kind of hooked on some past year Seiko JDMs and I don't really want to buy used.

What are ya'll into? I kind of realized that smart watches are basically pointless.

same boat as you, started to wear actual watches instead of smartwatch trash
if you wanna get something self sustaining I can recommend a solar powered Seiko, they have dresswatch options (picrel)
if you wanna go cheap get a Casio vintage line with analog watchface and swap out the strap for something like a leather band instead of the Casio bracelet

Not really, also I do plan on buying a birth year watch but I'm trying to double up on birth month as well and it's hard to find a good one at a decent price.

Picked one of these (on the left) up the other day, I'm going to try and mod it into a smaller case because I love the dial, but not the case (it's too big).
