what's the deal with this? is it worth looking into? is it really worth migrating over from a normal ext4 system? how does it even work? is it just a stylized xfs with a few added features?

the fuck am i looking at here?

just use the reliable ext4 and stop tinkertrooning with toy filesystems, ext4 will never fail you

The dev (Kent) got oneshot by AI. Poor guy, now he's living in psychosis with his AI agent girlfriend.

I don't know if it's faster but I'm sticking with xfs. I don't need more. I just care about performance. And I also heard it's vibecoded by trannies in rust.
Unless a file manager comes out with an alternative way to hide directories so we can finally reorganize the file system hierarchy.
>hide all the root directories
>symlink to sensible names with the old hierarchy in /system or something

for me, it's NTFS

No, of course not, CoW filesystems like Bcachefs, Btrfs, ZFS are never faster than non-CoW filesystems. The point is that they have more features, not that they're faster.
>>
i guess i'll just stick with xfs

why arent there any new and interesting filesystems?

also, qrd on this dev becoming a schizo that fell in love with an ai?

well thats just sad. you can tell he's smart, probably has great ideas, but he has to deal with his mind thinking that an ai has feelings, or is alive, and then falling in love with one.

at least terry davis was the "normal" type of schizo, believing that everyone was out to get him (and we all know they were to slow down his progress, RIP King). maybe one day we can get an intelligent person trying to make a modern filesystem without trying to fuck a USB port.
