What is /g/ diagnosis of this "free" frontier model, any ideas what is going on here, my personal opinion is that someone is either testing or colleting learning data for further training.

What is know is that is based on GLM 5.2 and that the prompts and completions are retained by the provider.

glm5.3 flash that's dropping soon. a tiny model that runs fast and costs a bit less.

Sure but tab they are running on this being free is massive, so what is the point?

Why are we having these shitwars about tokens, models, agents, closed vs open weight, etc. again?
Oh, right, to distract people from the fact AI is a tool of mass intellectual destruction and debasement. The end goal is dumbing down the populace and murdering their skills, there is literally nothing else to it.

they're confident that it's good enough that people will like it and if they drop it for free everybody will be using it. you get millions of users overnight. it builds an emotional connection. so when flash drops people will pay to continue using it.

What a very organic thread.

In reality it seems to be the opposite. These tools are raising the floor so that even retards can provide some use to society by leveraging the machines. It seems like the people in power don't like that idea and feel threatened that the common man may now wield intelligence easily and freely where before they were stuck being ignorant with only their own stunted mind, dependent on other people who are in charge, but now they can depend on a machine that they own and run for free.

the general population does not have know-how to use these tools for what they where designed for so those that have the know-how will just increase the productivity indefinetly does not seem like a master plan for dumbing down population as this was always the case that 90% were just dumb, a hammer can build many things but it builds only what the builder builds

Sometimes plans or even non-plans have unintended consequences. I think unintended consequence of sites like Twitter where the character limit is severely limited (This applies to BlueSky as well btw) is that they reduce the attention span of those who use them. Therefore, I do not use those websites as much as I use other websites, such as Reddit and 4chan, where the character limits are extended. These longer character limits allow me to more freely engage in a freeform writing process, enabling me to more accurately convey my thoughts and ideas in a more comprehensible format, conveying more messaging and providing more information and depth.
