1. Remove everything except the CPU, RAM and add a heatsink. Use a tower cooler and not some gay ass shitty water cooler.
If it boots then it's overheating.

2. If it still doesn't boot to BIOS then try one RAM in all the slots one at a time.
If it boots then it's either a RAM issue or a motherboard or CPU issue.

3. Use a known good RAM stick.
If it works then the RAM stick is dead.
If it doesn't work then it points to either a CPU or motherboard issue.

4. Use a known good CPU with the original RAM stick.
If it works then CPU is dead.
If it doesn't work it's a motherboard issue.

5. Use a known good motherboard with the original CPU and original RAM stick.
If it works your motherboard died.
If it doesn't work then you're fucked and replace everything.

its a fucking 10 year old PC I don't have any spare parts. I've never built anything with a fan cooler so I don't even have that. My current PC's ram isn't compatible (ddr5), I dont have another intel cpu to socket, and replacing the mobo would be a nightmare.

CPU might be overheating and shutting down.

Buy one of these CPU coolers and replace that H100i.
These are compatible with that CPU socket (LGA1151)

You're shit out of luck then.
You could try buying shit from Amazon, then return them once you figure it out. But returns from 3rd party sellers is a pain in the ass. You can probably still buy DDR4 RAM from Amazon, just double check if it's being sold by Amazon.
But returning all that at once would flag your account. So...just take it to a repair shop. Not being able to boot into BIOS sounds like an issue with those three components.

Point desk fan at machine in case it's a cooling issue (ram, chipset, etc).

Try a different psu.

Does it have integrated graphics?
Unplug everything you can, stripping it down to a bare minimum to figure out where the problem might be.

Try the gpu in another pc.

What's wrong with OLED being exposed to the sun?
>>
>>109650647
You want glossy for best image quality, matter screens have grain to them. And sunny room degrades the experience of using a glossy monitor.

the problem is that OLED screens are dim and glossy panels reflect everything. Needless to say you'll need a secondary screen for keeping your PDFs for education/work open.

OLED is a shit with a countdown clock every second you use it while CRTs later on were pretty resilient to burn in, but all is not well in LCD land. I have gone down a rabbit hole since yesterday and there are many people online talking about how horrible the vignette darkening on fast IPS panels especially are today. >just bad uniformity from the backlight tho not viewing angles
No, I think all these gaming monitor designers are just incompetent. My $450 BenQ LCD (designed in 2016) which I got In 2019 (and can be had today new for $340 still) completely demolishes every matte IPS display I see on store shelves today and in HUB videos in viewing angles. There is basically zero vignette or edge dimming, and next to no gamma shift even from extreme angles, you wouldn't believe it until I show it to you. But that's probably because this was a display intended to be used by people who actually give a shit about image quality.

I also distinctly remember even some 4K 160Hz gaming LCDs not having as bad viewing angle experience as the stuff you see today. ASUS ROG monitors from even 3 years back in the $450 price range, if I remember correctly.
>ok but what are your options
Probably something that isn't the cheapest Chinesium being sold at markup to gamers. AHVA panels. There's no point to OLED when those can get brighter in a bright room and don't burn in and have fine view angles. Calling that s cope is funny to me.
>>
>>109650535
Damn, I didn't know the 9070 XT was worse than a 5060 Ti.
>>
>>109650860
The real cope is pretending that OLED isn't a public beta test technology and that it is actually ready for mass market use. The amount of electronic waste from all these used up OLEDs that manufacturers are pooping out is going to be staggering. MicroLED can't come soon enough unless investors pull the plug like at Samsung because they can't pull an ink cartridge scheme with those.

You're right, I need to find more professional quality LCDs within these same price points or higher instead of this cheap garbage in the IPS and OLED market today for a massive hike. Perhaps monitors didn't necessarily get cheaper and better as much as people thought.

OLED is shit if you're doing anything other than playing games at night. You're not doing that for most of your life. It is a fundamentally flawed stopgap technology that has to be replaced.
>>
>>109650985
Next time don't buy an expensive monitor so you can still afford some glasses in order to truly appreciate the glorious text fringing, chromatic aberrations and banding due to the huge pixels with funny subpixel layouts on your OLED panel. Do it in darkness so your reflection doesn't scare you, of course.
>>
>>109650997

They don't. Corporations only care about how much profit a technology can make them. Plasmas and CRTs are still objectively better in certain ways than modern displays.

I dug out my old LG monitor for a side by side brightness comparison with all my existing IPS monitors made in 2019, 2024, and 2015 ranging from AHVA IPS, ADS IPS, and AH IPS with 350 nits, 400 nits, and 250 nits brightness.

I'd say in the sun here you'd want 350-400 nits minimum. I don't think 300 is enough considering how dim the LG looks.

All 3 monitors have pretty great viewing angles with no real noticeable vignette dimming on the edge save for the AOC monitor which is probably due to their bezel design being designed for multi monitor scenarios. Bearing in mind one is 1440p 60Hz, one 1080p 240Hz, and 1080p 60Hz. I might haul a 4k monitor like that Lenovo to see how it stacks up against these.

Testing in white is a little more revealing for the vignetting. What seems to set these old panels apart though from what I saw in the store is the uniformity of the image, yes it still dims when you turn but it's a lot more uniform rather than abruptly dropping off on the edge of your viewing plane on something like a 27 inch display.

I don't understand why people disregard viewing angles when they still apply even when you are sitting dead center. The edges of the screen will be at an angle. Maybe the vignetting is better masked on curved LCD panels?

I also wonder how much the pressure of the LCD sandwich can mess things up, like if you're cleaning the screen and pressing down or if it gets smacked. AHVA should have an advantage because it's all packed closer to the surface.

They either have LG Display's WOLED or Samsung Display's QD-OLED panel.
Some may have a special "True Black" glossy panel finish.
Some may have lower maximum SDR brightness (200 vs. 250 or 300 nits)
Display HDR TrueBlack 400 vs. 500 (higher is better)
Maximum refresh rate differences, 1440/720p dual mode, etc.

Highlights can get insanely bright.

>IPS HDR is eye melting mode idk.
IPS panel needs to be paired with a miniLED backlight for better contrast and deeper blacks.

>HDR seems to be a meme anyway
Usually a display quality, calibration, or source media issue.
Watch HDR mastered movies or TV series on your display.

Most games have half-assed HDR implementations.
Devs incorporate existing SDR color pipelines rather than building native HDR lighting and assets.
New game engines like UE5 has better native HDR development support, but it's up to the devs to properly utilize it.
The list of games that need HDR fixes is shocking.
https://github.com/clshortfuse/renodx/wiki/Mods

Then there's janky games like Final Fantasy XVI which supposedly prioritized HDR presentation, and it has a problematic SDR mode.
>>
>>109651974
Just use integer scaling. It looks better than native 1080p because there's no visible space between pixels.
>>
>>109651988
AMD doesn't allocate as much R&D on gaming graphics tech as NVIDIA.
They partnered with Sony & MS to develop better upscaling and frame gen that'll be featured in next-gen consoles.
Intel's XeSS2 can compete vs. FSR4 in terms of quality & performance, and Intel XeSS Frame Generation doesn't have frametime issues like FSR4's.

The only 4K 160Hz monitors I've seen at the $300 budget are the Acer XB273K V5, and the PHILIPS Evnia 27M2N3800A/00. The former is from 2024 and gets you an extra 100 nits up to 400. The latter can allegedly a peak of 450 as opposed to 350 because of HDR400, but I also hear Philips monitors have quality issues even though it advertises 130% sRGB.

I've also found at $270 an advertised 144Hz panel from IIYAMA, the G-Master GB2771UHSU-B1 27 which has some bold claims going for it including 450nits and 1500:1 static contrast on top of it which seems anomalous.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-ZMjD69Y5Q
Indeed, this video seems to demonstrate why specifications should mean nothing compared to real world tests. So far I've seen proper UFO and overshoot testing on the M27UP and the 27U-10 so those are the most known quantities.

Values like 160Hz and 320Hz just mean that the monitor is overclocked, isn't it? Is it always the case that setting them to a value like 144Hz and 240Hz results in less ghosting and overshoot?

They don't actually make panels like "This panel will be exactly 144Hz!", they just pick the highest common refresh the panel is capable of without too much ghosting or overshoot. Basically binning.

You know what, maybe I should spend the extra 1000 złoty just to get a desktop monitor with a Mini LED backlight. The SDR monitors all look like dim, washed out borefests compared to how BRIGHT even these mini led televisions are. Assuming that they are even vaguely comparable to desktop monitors.

I just want that damn brightness.

look

I want ai to do something GOOD in realtime graphics.

Right now, we get fake frames and fake pixels.

Result? WORSE play. ie you suck more. It's drag (like wind).

What most players don't know is you should cut back on antialiasing. Sometimes AI can basically bypass antialiasing, and that's why it can seem to offer improvements, because antialiasing is very bad for you too.

You want all antialiasing off, why?

Because one pixel will go "hot" and you will see it as "motion", if say you are camping and someone very far off barely enters the view.

anyway, bottom line: image improvers are for cinema, not for gaming.

But I'll test you and prove you're not serious. Tell me what your gaming audio is.

"Fakeness" in computer graphics is a silly idea, anon. Just think of "AI" like DLSS as a very clever statistical approximation algorithm, which is, in essence, no different from many computer graphics algorithms which take shortcuts in order to output something good enough in an expedient amount of time. You just brute forced it through training.

But I do agree that they should be training DLSS and the likes using like 64K resolution downscaled to 32K, graphics are way too fucking blurry.

DLSS 5 won’t even run on the 5070. It’s going to be for the 5090 and 6000 series that have the hardware to run it. That’s why a Nvidia needed two 5090’s to run their demo, with an entire 5090 dedicated to the DLSS 5 pass and the other running the actual game. I guess they have it running on a single 5090 now, but I bet it doesn’t work worth a shit on anything below 24GB of VRAM with a beefy GPU.
>>
>>109653661
Something is really fucking wrong with the monitors on this shelf. That Acer on the bottom row has an alleged 250 nit brightness, yet it looks about the same as the 400 nit screen next to it, yet the 4k 300 nit screen looks darker than the 250 nit screen.
>>109653844
Maybe some fuckery is going on with the default settings being bad or whatever but this actually shouldn't be the case for desktop monitors. They won't put Mini LED screens on a row LCD's for example because the average customer cannot afford a $500 monitor, and the average customer who would buy a Mini LED (a gamer, so usually someone who is a teenager or in their early 20's) also can't afford it. They display the cheapest shit that actually sells and people can buy.l

>>109654340
I didn’t say shit about ray reconstruction 2. I’m saying that DLSS 5 is much more demanding than older versions, which are a different technology. Nvidia needs 1-2 of the most powerful $5000 GPU’s in the world to make DLSS5 work, it’s not happening on the lower end cards until next gen when they can put more dedicated hardware in them.

Are these good or dogshit temperatures for a 9800X3D with a cooling setup this elaborate? I have an NH-D15 G2 with 4 intake and 2 exhaust fans. In the test with 16 cores it gets undervolted from 5.2 to 5.1 GHZ. Idling and gayming temperatures are very low but high load stuff seems too high. I was surprised cause someone here ran the same 4-core test with a 7950X3D and got a Tctl of around 70 degrees. i found the dark rock elite to be kinda shit (it came with the system). it performs fine on 13th gen but not on am5 from benchmarks. i bought the whole computer for very cheap but the tjmax of the cpu is like 89°C (unlike the 95°C on the 9800X3D) and my cpu was hitting that all the time when compiling shaders and rendering. i looked up reviews and the dark rock elite isn't all that good on am5 cpus and loses to the much cheaper phantom spirit 120 because of the heat pipe layout. i bought it for like 35€ to replace it and it lowered my cpu temps by a lot and made the system also much quieter. i also don't mind running the 7950X3D with only 8 cores because i bought the whole system for the same price of a new at the time 7700X.

Only retards would buy a new monitor every two years.
>>
>>109655210
Very few OLED display owners would need to replace it that often, 3 year burn-in warranty is standardized.
You wouldn't know because you can't afford one.

Burn-in warranty lasts for at least 3-years, there's literally 0 need to buy "a new monitor every two years" even if burn-in becomes a serious issue for that person.
This topic was settled years ago; keep your existing LCD monitor for static content heavy programs & games if you're paranoid about burn in.
This guy is just coping because his aging parents refuse to buy him an OLED display, and he's worthless to buy one on his own.

if my nvidia geforce gtx 1070ti got a new thermal paste (so freshly applied arctic mx-4 cooler in this case), will this extend its lifespan by a few years or does it constantly need to be changed

No, it's good enough for gay men.

again, 1000hz...

>>109655301
is your oled 1000hz?
>>
>>109655304
>does it constantly need to be changed
Pastes will pump out overtime and will need replacing.
Consider Kryosheet or other carbon pads if you want a permanent solution.
There's also phase change TIM like PTM7950.

OLEDs only have to worry about S&H blurring, they are instant response otherwise
you're better off with a Pulsar panel than a 1000Hz panel when it comes to LCDs
>>
>>109655319
Most game engines don't even support 1000 FPS rendering.
I prioritize image quality over raw refresh rate.

1100hz is pretty much basic Agentic Engineer at this point YOOL 2026.

>>109655327
no I mean will it be good for like 2-3 years or do I need to constantly replace it every 6 months, that kinda stuff. I know it's not permanent.

Should be fine for years
>>
>>109655419
Good pastes like MX7 or Duronaut should last at least 5~6 years.
Undervolt the GPU to reduce the intensity of thermal expansion & contraction (pump out).

I know I'm out of the loop, but what I chose, HDMI 2.1 or Displayport when both options are available?

DisplayPort unless HDMI provides higher refresh rate.

obsoleted by strobing techniques, get your well defined moving objects at 60Hz, sirs!

They're affordable enough to try one out for yourself.
Visit a display showroom, and buy it from a retailer with a customer friendly return policy.
Avoid the cheaper 200 nits maximum SDR brightness models unless your room is fine with it.

Why do TVs STILL not have displayport as a standard feature?

Adding DisplayPort controllers to TV SoC makes those TVs less price competitive.
There's not enough PC gaming customers who need DP on HDR TVs to justify the cost.
