enlighten me on why should i waste tons of hours on learning vim motions or emacs when CUA shortcuts + arrowkeys work in almost every text program ever made
If you think it's a waste then you shouldn't. It's your decision.
The vim navigation keybinds come from the original vi program in 1976 when the arrows keys literally didn't exist, and arrows were alternate functions printed on the hjkl keycaps. That's the only reason they exist, if anyone tries to convince you it's "faster" or more ergonomic because it's on the home row or whatever, it's not true, it is a confabulated retroactive justification because boomers learned it that way, it has no benefit whatsoever.

I won't lie, I'm just used to modal editing and I can't imagine not using vim, but I can see how people just don't care for it. It's a tool, no one really flexes they're vim expertise at you.
