Windows 10. Arranging windows from the task bar (show windows stacked / show windows side by side) acts as though there's an invisible extra window, causing an empty space. How do I fix this?

Look into Fancy Zones in Power Toys. It lets you define areas and one of the defaults is columns, you can adjust the padding.

Reading about fancyzonews, it's the same drag to resize or keyboard shortcut activated shit that I hate about Snap.
