I like to use it in conjunction with claude.I have a claude max plan and gemini plus. Gemini can be great for google specific things or basic sanity checking certain things.Sometimes if i'm having issues with a section of code claude is working on letting gemini pro extended look at things will point out something claude is just overlooking entirely and fix the whole thing. So yeah, it can be useful if used correctly.

They provide less friction since AI can integrated into the huge product portfolio people are already using. There are tons of companies even right now that are Copilot only for compliance reasons. If you combing this with the fact that they have infinite money, they are going to win the long run. It doesn't matter that there are "better" products out there, convenience and price will out. There are many examples of products and technology where the superior option withered and the lesser option prevailed. It's going to be to the same with AI stuff. Anything worthwhile from the others will get bought up and integrated when they fold.
