So best visuals are gatekept by big studios because it requires big budgets and many people to pull it off.But if that tech can take basic model or basic texture and gen AI it to something photorealistic without any "human" input even worst asset flips will be photorealistic and apart from it there will be no reason to make underlying assets good at first place. It reminded me lighting situation, games look bland because what was artistic craft few years ago is now outsourced to lumen, ray tracing and so on and good quality lighting can be done via UE pipeline by few jeets. Few years ago same thing need to be done by baking lights or custom pipelines done by expensive graphics programmers. And It kinda chew thru entire AAA industry because low budget AA games thanks to that can have realistic lighting without spending too much. But that dlss would be even more destructive for them
