I'm not having much luck training z-image base.Even at 1e-5 you can see it forgetting and yet not really learning new concepts. No lora is on the left, lora is on the right. Unlike krea2, the lora does not seem to work with the turbo model, it only works with the base, which is what I'm training against. I'll run them both against my danbooru 40k dataset to 10K steps, but I think either way, 1e-5 or 1e-4 is a wasted effort. 1e-4 looks even worse at an early stage.

Fun fact: training directly on the base model gives you shit results. You need to train on something like Hasaku or Janku if you want fine details to be learned instead of generalized away.

Hires fix is outdated tech at this point. My current workflow is txt2img and then running the edit lora from Molntimalu called Yet Another Anime Edit Model (or something close to that), and it gives that kind of hires fix effect but better. It nails pupils, fingers, hands, and gives more coherent shadows and backgrounds. It's not 100% reliable and it's noticeably slower, but to the eye the results are way more coherent and just look better than hires fix.
