>Not sure what private trackers are all about?
A private tracker is an invite-only torrent website. Each member shares common goals: collecting, preserving and discussing media.

>READ THE OP BEFORE MAKING A FUCKING QUESTION YOU RETARDED FAGGOT
>It doesn't matter if you use the same username in different trackers, the staff still share your IP with each other.
>Staff is reading, being /marked/ is NOT a meme, and even if it is, it isn't.
>Don't ask for invites, it's private for a reason.
>If starting out you should interview for RED, rank to Torrent Master, wait on account age, and get invites from there. THAT'S IT THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO.

They can absolutely be blamed for not wanting to moderate their website and instead letting it rot. Just open sign-ups with only comment access and no upload permission, then selectively grant it to users who show they have stuff to contribute regularly. But that would assume there is anyone alive at the helm, and there isn't
>>
>>109675039
>No
Have you already tried that? I heard they open registrations to people who show that they have something to offer, but maybe I'm wrong.
>>
>>109675065
This might've been true shortly after they closed registration, but I'm not completely sure. Since then though there's just no way regardless of anything, even some prolific uploaders currently don't have their own accounts and use other people's. Best example that is known is 1r0n who's arguably the biggest officially translated manga uploader on the whole site (at least before he went on break a few months ago) and uses a friend's account for the same reason

Why are a lot of MAM torrents limited to VIP only? What is the logic behind this?
>>
>>109676739
get people to spend bp, and drive demand for bp. BP is generated by seeding, so it encourages people to seed

>>
>>109676754

>>
>Straight Scenes, Edited For Gay Eyes

have you downloaded kino lately?
>>
>>109677109
RED has superior collages and comments. Using the userscript that searches for matching albums from RED using the OPS API is a massive ratio saver. When I find something on RED that isn't on OPS I don't need to feel bad about downloading it since the ratio hit is minimal and I upload it to OPS to help the rest of the bros using this strategy out.
>>
>tfw was on xanax and pooloo but never tried orifice
>>
>>109677298
It's a lot less curry than it was but... Neons here try to meme it into something it's not. They say shit like "real music lovers are actually on OPS and you will get more snatches there" which is not at all true. It's a bit of a ghost town community wise. It's just a massive dump of stuff cross seeded from RED. I am not complaining about that because it has allowed me to download as much as I want and achieve a massive seeding size on RED without further damaging my ratio. I should have joined sooner. But RED is vastly superior.
>>
>Blutopia > SeedPool > ULCX > Luminarr > DarkPeers > OnlyEncodes > YuScene
From last thread. What in the fuck are these things. I only know of pootopia and seedpoo
>>
While I'm at it I'll complain about the shit fucking organization on OPS. RED can be a bit messy with multiple artists sharing the same page but the OPS attempt to use the numbers from Discogs for disambiguation fucks things up worse. Album groups end up on the wrong page anyway because of automation and users importing things from RED. It doesn't get cleaned up unless you go through and report things or use the options to do janny work merging groups yourself. A lot of the time people upload shit and don't even bother trumping the old torrent that previously existed. Other times they are in separate groups. I can't say these things never happen on RED but it's much rarer.
>>
>>109677334
LST will be mogging them all in 6 month only saar

>>109677334
OnlyEncodes is a movies/TV tracker focused on high quality encodes. Basically maximizing the quality you can get out of small file sizes.

Sometimes minor trackers are missing from the list, but it's mostly accurate.

Anyway, ATH and OPS pulling recruitment from MAM made things much harder for neons. You should also try interviewing for OPS, but I've heard that these days it's even harder to get an interview there than on RED.
>>
>>109683035

The flatter scenes with clear light/detail will usually look pretty much indistinguishable. Pick the screenshots with dark scenes, especially those with lights that contrast well with the darkness, this is where the difference can lie a lot of the time. Rainy/snowy scenes are also very good to compare the details
For colors though I'm not sure if the screenshots are a good comparison, since what you'll see rendered in your video player after actually downloading the file will likely look slightly different than how the screenshot appears in your browser
>I'm pretty sure they mention why each release is better in the description.
More often than not the reason I've seen given for why a version wasn't as good was something lame like "bad encode". Like okay, what about it is bad? Same with "wrong colors", what is wrong with them? What are you comparing them to? Maybe I'm just unlucky but a lot of times I just have to compare them myself because they won't explain anything

do i have to think about what torrents get a good amount of bonus points on MAM or can i just seed random freeleech torrents?
>>
>>109684857
>can i just seed random freeleech torrents?
yes, the economy is very easy. You'll probably earn slightly more if you seed torrents with fewer seeds but it doesn't really matter. Ebooks are so small just snatch and seed whatever you want

how many random torrents seeding 24/7 would it take to get to VIP in 4 weeks?

Sup bros. I spent some time and a bunch of GPT API credit fixing up: https://orpheus.network/forums.php?action=viewthread&threadid=22384

The goal here is to make the most comprehensive tool for RED/OPS users to make the most out of their tokens and buffer. RED is the best tracker to browse with better collages, more helpful user comments, and overall is more complete. While OPS has a much easier economy.

Features:
Improved cross tracker searching inspired by (stolen from) nemorosa
Downloading torrents from one tracker while browsing another no longer results in filenames like torrent_bunchanumbers.torrent
Ability to see how many tokens you have on the other tracker and use them while browsing
Ability to limit searches to FLAC only
Faster loading when deep searches are not needed

Known limitation:
As with the original script if you open up 100 tabs for albums with this script running there's a good chance your browser is going to shit itself. Take it easy! Maybe 2 or 3 at a time at most. Then you're not spamming the hell out of tracker APIs either.

It probably has bugs still. It's vibeslop after all. But it works pretty damn good so here you go, no warranty. Use it or don't.

Anyone got a Bibliotik invite? I'm assuming no.
The curation on MAM is abysmal, basically no point in using it if you still have to fix the metadata at the end anyway. Metadata which isn't even hard to figure out-- there's a few fields to fill out max, & somehow the uploaders can't do this.

if you're a fresh neon i don't think you get a choice and you need to sneed the rotating pool of freeleech torrents, just grab all of them and when they rotate the pool grab all the new ones in that rotation. you'll very quickly have more bon than you know what to do with. after a few months you can purge all the sneedfodder from your client and switch to only sneeding what you actually want to keep.
>>
>>109686224
>purge all the sneedfodder
Or not. I sneed over 2000 books on MAM and they take only about 300 GiB of space, it's nothing
>>
>>109685934
DON'T SAY THAT
>>
>>109686316
i'm more worried about running into stability issues with qbit with the number of torrents it can run without crashing. 300GB is nothing that's true even for thirdies today, 2000 torrents is an awful lot. do any of you guys seed tens of thousands of torrents, and if so how are you doing it, do you just need to run multiple clients for different trackers?

client version and os? how many of those are actively uploading at any given time?
>>
>>109686685
qbit 5.1.4 on llnux
currently 23 has active upload with 17 MiB/s upload speed. most are from my regional tracker
private torrents get very little activity so you can get away seeding this many. couldn't do on public trackers
>>
>X years on deadend tracker

why are redditors like this?
>>
>>109686815
interesting. i've got ~30 uploading at any point and i've only got 4500 though a lot of that activity is from the porn torrents i've got in there.

Neons just aren't built for the grind. I've been on trackers forever and I haven't stopped because I'm not just there to leech.
>>
>>109678050
OPS BP is so easy to get I just hand out tokens to neons all the time. RED buffer is worth way more.
>>
>>109687040
>I haven't stopped because I'm not just there to leech
imagine being a neon and getting into a decent tracker and you realize that the uploads aren't just from the internal release groups, there's also regular users who are uploading and cross-uploading everything they can, everywhere they can, even though they don't need to and every single upload they make is one less upload that you could have done. you "made it" but you will never be /set4lyfe/ and instead of living the easy life on TL you will forever be treading water and managing your buffer and ratio. neon suifuel.
>>
>>109687246
It's not like I'm racing brand new stuff. I'm curating a selection of things I like and enjoy. Often I'm spending my money to acquire these things. It's not like all this shit magically appears on hard drives gifted by the free file fairy ready to upload. I did my part by sharing knowledge and tools with them here. Outside of /ptg/ I laugh at the struggles of r/trackers users.
>>
>>109687267
>It's not like all this shit magically appears on hard drives gifted by the free file fairy ready to upload
lots of people think like this tho. then they wonder why is something unavailable. they don't understand that someone has to buy and upload it.
piracy is too easy i tell you. it has to be gatekept more

>>109687330
All these requirements exist to weed out people who will never contribute. In this thread we teach people how to cheese this system. For me it's just fun thinking up all these strategies and explaining them to people. But that still takes effort and patience. People who don't want to do anything end up on rutracker or something.

This, it makes no sense to do the grind, if nobody wants to join for a few years, they have to lower the requirements or they lose too many valuable torrents.

>>
>>109687987
Why join a tracker that is vastly inferior to nyaa and forces you to use old torrent clients because staff can't be bothered to whitelist new versions for several months.
