>>109679973If you want to make the most out of it, setup arch with lxqt, using linux-lts, lightdm and ufw, and just download the packages you want to use. If you want to stick with Mint, use Mint XFCE edition, enable ufw and download zram-tools, then reboot. If you want to use debian, again, you probably want to use LXqt and lightdm and you can download zram-tools, enable ufw and then reboot. If you think it can handle something a bit more modern; Look up fedora-spins, grab fedora xfce or lxqt. Everything is already configured.

I switched from Linux Mint to Debian. It's fine. My hard drive with Mint on it died, so I didn't 'distro hop.' My thought process was that Mint is based on Debian, so why not just use Debian. Debian has cinnamon so that's cool.

>>109679336Why do you need to switch? I have used Pop for years and years now and not a single problem. I have no need to switch. Why don't you install a hypervisor and fuck around with different distros instead of wrecking all the work, configs, settings, and so on you've done on Mint?

I hope Devuan considers a vote like Debian, but to not go proposal E and rather do something like Gentoo does on forbidding AI downstream.
