i'm treating it as a successor to boxshots, customize.org, skinbase and certain parts of deviantart
https://custodesk.net
how does /g/ feel about this? there are too many dotfiles littered incoherently around the archives. i believe a central hub for them is a good idea
>>
>>109682993
Huh, actually a wonderful idea.

Before I give you a free click:
Does it use cloudflare?
Do I need to register to view the content?
Do I need javascript to view the content?
Is rust present in your project in any form?
Is it a r/unixporn scrapper?
>>
>>109682993
did you made this pekwm theme?
>>
>>109683155
>Does it use cloudflare?
no cuckflare here
>Do I need to register to view the content?
no, but you do need to register to POST the content because i don't want to wake up to the site being flooded by generic dumbbots posting child porn. it doesn't force you to use a specific email provider though, so burners can be used to register at the moment

no

I had sort of the same idea but I never got around to making it.
All the media channels have been shilling Linux non-stop.
Since customization is one of Linux's selling point.
It was going to be like PC part picker but for Unix-like desktops.
It would show how much RAM a WM & common programs are using, what features they have & you get to pick & choose which programs you want to use.
Complete with dot files & step by step intructions on how to rice your unix to look like someone else's screenshot.

It does not seem to be optimized for mobile, lots of empty space.

it is a desktop ricing website first and foremost so i wasn't thinking about phones but nonetheless it'll be resolved soon

I'm the guy that made it. I have no problem with it being on the site.
The widget thing was written in pyqt to imitate fvwmbuttons. I'll look for the source if you want.

I moved to openbox and focused more on life. The pkwm ones were the last I posted before moving away from retro stuff, but I have posted my desktop a few times since.
During my fvwm phase I spent days reading man pages and I was drinking a lot. Things have improved a since then.

Is file hosting for the dots and themes a thing you're considering or would it rely on external hosting like catbox?

i really like the design of the website. is it built using just PHP, HTML, and CSS? is it open source? I’d be curious to take a look at the code.

i hate this fucking captcha
>>
>>109684055
Found it. It was only a prototype and I didn't know python or qt at the time, so it has many problems. But it's fully functional.
Check the readme for instructions. I highly reccomend improving it if you are going to use it.

It's just openbox + tint2 made to look like some old /g/ rice, so nothing special. Based on my post history I should be institutionalized to be frank.

It kinda reminds me of a guy that was using AwesomeWM in the desktop threads

i'd love to see it

I'm a faker, so I wasn't around back then.
When I post things like this people gloss over it, but if you try to replicate the tint2 config you'll know something unusual is going on.
(I'm on 4g so I can't upload images)
