Compare that to Microsoft:

Based post. Bottles is indeed the best way to use WINE for general purpose Windows software on GNU/Linux.

if only the fag that runs it wasnt adding AI bullshit like an antivirus

Usecase?

Windows Sandbox on Windows accomplishes the same thing. You can also just not run malware or not give it internet access.
>>
Can't run After Effects or Photoshop haha, what a piece of useless garbage linux is.
>>
>>109683588
You can do this without ruining your OS with flatpak and without installing bloat like Bottles
Not saying it's bad tho, mintards no need to get angry

You mean this? This unironically helped me to get a game running before. Because it scans the executable and what it needs. But it's hit or miss.

Trvke. I just wish we had something portable, but still sandboxed.

Good luck having a persistent sandbox and running 3D software without your GPU.

macOS already sandboxes every software by default.
Maybe if linux trannies actually put effort into foss garbage instead of having weekly meltdown/culture war, it could happen too.
>>
>>109683671
That's not how flatseal works dipfuck you can't pwn the user by just cd C:\..

Don't worry, they just sponsored this project to get even better sandboxing. MacOS is not fully sandboxed, but Android and iOS are.

No it's not. You only need two environment variables, wine and proton, umu-run. In practice there's more like vkbasalt and other stuff but "bottles" is python shit nagware. It's shameless.

I'm glad that GNU/Linux is the follows the complete opposite philosophy and has everything open and well documented.
>>
>>109683588
i tried using bottles but it was buggy slow dogshit last I used it AND also only available on flatshit. Im still stuck using lutris which at least works consistently and at reasonable speed

I do the same but with faggot launcher

I liked bottles at first until I figured out how they handled anything related to wine tricks and it was a fucking mess. I remember having issues with japanese fonts because their installer was dogshit and didn't apply the registry settings needed for shit to work.
Then again I preferred it to lutris

No, bubblewrap does that
>>

You forgot to switch on the dedicated sandbox.

Let me guess you're an njudea user
>>
>>109684922
you can just sandbox lutris too bottles isnt special look into bubblewrap or ask an ai to write you a wrapper script
>>
>>109683588
Shouldn't the OS just do this by default?
>>
>>109686623
Ironic.

>njudea
no I mean the actual setting up the bottles to run stuff. I can fill in all the info I need in lutris then it creates the bottle when I first run it while I have to wait for bottles to create a prefix and then punch in the settings or w/e. Plus the settings pane and other stuff is slow to load. Thyre both written in python and gtk so I dont know why one is so much snappier than the other
>>109687752
I don't really care about sandboxing I just want a nice gui for creating wine prefixes and launching exe files
>ask an ai to write you a wrapper script
You can just bubblewrap -h and have all the same information
>>
>>109686623
