>twitter/x mirrors shut downIs it time to consider decentralized shitposting protocols, anon? Bluesky, Mastodon, Pleroma...
>wokesky>mastroondon>decentralizedlol lmao
>>109684112Imageboards are decentralized.
>>109684194I don't understand why people use anything other than Mastodon for this stuff.
>>109684112>>109684195umigalaxy seems to be attempting to make a hybrid social media/anonymous imageboard kind of deal. It's vibecoded so you probably wouldn't like it.Other than that you probably just have to accept that the darkweb remains the last hope for calling others racial slurs from dusk till dawn. Though if glowies and snitches are being paid to monitor anything through a microscope it's going to be the darkweb.
Shitposting has negative impact on your mental health.Stop now before it's too late.
>>109684112Is bluesky really decentralized? I thought it was just a proprietary mastodon instance.
>>109684112>>109684194They are technically centralized just not under the control of ine entity. Hence why they're called federated more accurately. The great thing about federated tech is that you can host your own.>inb4 b-but I'm too retarded and tech illiterate to do thatThere are literally projects with bith simplicity and single user in mind like gotosocial and epicyon. They're basically nothing more than a docker compose yaml file, they create themselves. So, you can make an account in the main instance like mastadon.social, which is perfect for normies.Or make an account in another smaller instance you trust if you don't want to selfhost.Or host your own single user instance easily if you trust no one.Complete p2p is still better in my opinion, but aside from bittorrent no one uses p2p tech.So federation with easy self hosting is a close second
>>109684201>let's get away from x and big corpo>oh I know, we'll throw all our eggs in this one mastadon basketYou seem to have missed the point of federation being protocol dependent, rather than software dependent.
>>109684401it's too late to stop
>>109684112It's time for normalfags like you to fuck off
>>109684112>>twitter/x mirrors shut down>Is it time to consider decentralized shitposting protocolswere people posting from those mirrors?I thought they were read-only
>>109684396>>109684195There was a project called fchannel that was a federated image board basically.Sadly it seems dead. There's 5chan which is completely p2p but the devs seem to be wanting to enshittify it by adding blockchain tech into it.
>>109684460I think OP has trouble expressing his thoughts clearly.
>>109684396>umigalaxyProprietary slop.If I'm escaping one proprietary software I won't go to another.I'll stick on 4chan and discord until a better, open source, self hostable version releases, otherwise migrating is retarded.
>>109684112I only used nitter/xcancel to follow a few retarded artists. They won't leave xitter unfortunately.
>>109684195Its time to retake /b/
>>109684601You can't. The porn spam is all bots. They don't want there to ever be another /b/.
>>109684112The point of the mirrors is to see specific tweets retard how does me visiting some completely unrelated microblogging site accomplish that
>>109684112If you were still using twitter, you'll probably just go back to it.
>picrelkill yourself
>>109684485This won't be the solution you're looking for, but I'm writing a braindead simple message board in Go. It's single board and comes with all the modern QoL people expect. I'm a horrible programmer and it was easy enough without any AI, I have high hopes someone more competent will come along and release a great piece of self hosted tech. The only problem they need to solve is abuse, that's the only thing holding us back from taking back the web.
>>109684201Can't the head janny of the Mastodon instance just block access to other instances whenever he gets his manties in a bunch? Mastodon isn't perfect. Also every instance I've ever seen is completely dead in comparison to any of the centralized options.
>>109684851>single boardActually seems comf if it had federation.Where every instance is basically a single board but people can crosspost and view other instances.
