It was so easy to give them edited photos because having to account for everyone's varying camera quality, they had more than enough wiggle room to be fooled by a screen where you could put any edited photo of anyone you want. That was never fixed, even when Meta moved to asking you for enough video to make a 3D scan of your head, but automated the process so it kept accepts video game footage going through the motions, which meant you could literally bypass someone's check by using a WWE create-a-wrestler of them.
