I couldn't get an old game to work properly on Linux through GoG, even when using Lutris with whatever config was recommended, and even with various tweaks I tried.Then I did Steam -> "Add Non-Steam Game" and on the install .exe, and then configured it to use the most recent Proton, and now it works fine.
