For me, it's SVT-AV1.
>>109698180>file shows up>transcode to h264 aac .mp4 5mbps>toss into your endless pit of mediasimpol-as
>>109699301This. Better codec and supported by all web browsers
>>109698180>what is Apple TV
>>109698180>still no use case for thisHave you been using the same LCD TV from 2009 or what?.
h265 is used often. and so is the x265 encoder. tiktok also uses it. it's really good.>>109699301>svt-av1the best.
>>109699561h265 support is still pretty bad tho compared to h264. All browser only support it if your system has a hevc hardware decoder. I wanted to use it for streaming with WebRTC but had to switch back to h264.
>>109698180It takes up less space than 264, so that's a selling point for me
>>109699561bytedance always used their own in-house encoders, and were like the only adopter of VVC. so you managed to be doubly wrong. impressive!that was before tiktok got zogged. i don't know if anything changed after (doubtful).
Been using primarily it since 2020.Takes up a fraction of the space of 264 or mp4 or other common codecs for the same qualuty. This allows using the full quality of the original instead of always downgrading to finding a balance of reasonable and garbage.Worked well even with a $200 amd gpu in 2019. Only become easier since.
>>109698180this is best bharat software saar
>>109698180>No HDR with H.264>Best choice for resolutions >4K tooContrarians sipping the SVT-AV1 kool-aid. At the speeds/AV1 features that actually make it run at a usable speed, it isn't worth the exponential increase in decode complexity. Everything I own can decode H.265 in hardware. I think only my Quest 3 can decode AV1.
>>109699895>bytedance always used their own in-house encodersi didn't know that.>and were like the only adopter of VVCvideo streams show up as hevc :P
>>109699935>video streams show up as hevc :Pah, wait. it's probably an issue on my end.
>>109699924lmao
x265 is still the best codec for high bitrate video.
>>109699924Use case for running x265 without arguments?
