I think soon enough imageboards will firmly be a thing of the past and anyone who wants to post on an imageboard will have a bespoke local imageboard running on their computer with a bunch of local AI agents making posts and threads on it at random intervals and they could create and manage their own topical boards at will like what we have now in the present and maybe even appoint AI agents as moderators/jannies
What do you think?

I talk to people to understand what my fellow human beings are thinking
4chan in particular is useful to get out of the usual echo chambers I'm in all day, on and off line
talking to AI defeats the purpose
though I suppose if everyone is outsourcing their thinking to AI, then knowing what AI is thinking is just a more direct way to do that
>>
I think imageboards will unironically outlive the dark end of the world wide web.

you're a "proud" windows user and make that part of your not so anon digital identity, your opinion is literally the equivalent of a crackhead's diarrhea

mein Neger the normies don't know about imageboards and /g/'s userbase has been declining for years. this site is too obscure for legislators to care at this point and even if they do something, don't underestimate just how fucking incompetent the state can and will be.

This place is an echo chamber. Unique side of modern day 4chins is how it actively pushes away real humans in favor of just shaping the perception of the public opinion by bots entirely. The more humans post here, the worth it is for the business or something like that.
It is probably that it will end soon, because eventually cash cows will figure it out.

i don't think this site will be gone. it cost peanuts to run and the cianiggers happily sponsors it with cloudflare (no issues with scraper bandwidth yadayada). you're here forever.

they said the same about forums, they still exist and are very active.
mmo-champion.com for example.

Crazy to think 4chan is one of the last bastions of the old Internet

Been here since 2008, wild stuff
>>
>>109702702
Imageboards are already a thing of the past, new Internet users don't seek out the old way of doing things, everyone and everything is so atomized now, discord was unironically the death knell of the open Internet
That said, I can't see myself stopping shitposting here

Is this supposed to be a negative?
>>
>>109705708
It is, and it also isn't, young people breathe new life into old communities, and while newfags have gotten more and more insufferable over the years, an end the flow of new users is typically how websites die

Imageboards are cool the issue is volume. reels type social media apps get ridiculous engagement. if only there was a way to get everyone on 1 imageboard. imagine how fun that would be

>What do you think?
i think your theory is pretty dumb because AI cannot surprise a laugh out of you. that's why i still browse around these parts
>>
>>109702709
As much as most you people are retarded faggots, you're a hundred times more pleasant to be around than pretty much anyone else on the internet
>>
>>109706479
I was on imageboards with that amount of flow. You don't even get to follow a thread before it slides off or bumplocks. I prefer less popularity to fast moving can't follow up etc.
>>
>>109706751

I think the topic threads have really slowed down the boards overall. Before they became mainstream boards were bombarded with multiple threads of the current zeitgeist. Like /v/ before /vg/ was created.
>>
>>109702702

>>
>>109706657
I think it's the unguarded and honest way people shitpost here that makes it so compelling for me, anonymity breeds honesty, for the most part
>>
>>109702702
Why would I want to simulate a fake forum? What's the point? It'd just be clanker bullshit that doesn't sound like any actual human being back and forth like "Wow! That's a really great point!" and "It's not that—not that. But. This."
>>
>>109702702
You are already discussing with bots on this site, nothing would change.
>>
If we lose imageboards, then how the fuck do we date each other on them?
