Windows has caught up. But in the early 2000s this shit was so far ahead it felt magical. And the coolest part? You were using Unix. The nerd system I'd read about, what hackers used. University labs. Shell scripts. It sounded magical. I didn't know much of it, but for a moment, I walked those footsteps. I stood on those shoulders. And it was intoxicating.
