made a tiny build tool called VUB
it took basically no effort to make
yes, Makefiles already solve pretty much the same problem

VUB can.
The idea is stupidly simple: give it a language_spec_1.0.md and it can figure out how your project is supposed to be built.
If you're a vibe coder, you can literally:

Make your language spec
Paste language_spec_1.0.md into Claude
Tell it to build your compiler/project
Give it VUB
Double-click the build file

No opening Command Prompt.
No cd C:\some\godforsaken\folder.
No remembering what the hell the Makefile syntax was.

Just double click -> build.

And before someone says "bro that's what Make does":

That's the joke.
VUB is just a tiny convenience layer around a problem that has already been solved for decades.

Not "free software, but first read the manifesto."

Take it. Copy it. Modify it. Put it in your own project. Sell your modified version. Rewrite it in Rust for absolutely no reason.
I don't care.
I made this because I was annoyed by something, and now it's somehow the program I use the most.
That's VUB.
It isn't revolutionary. It doesn't need to be. It just works.
