Should I get a 49 inch super ultrawide monitor ?
>ultrawideNah go 2x24 or 2x27
that size always reminds me of the anon that badly want to sell his for it being too big and it also randomly making scary plastic cracking/popping sounds at any time
>>1097060033440x1440 34' and never look back.Super ultra-wides only look good if you gonna post it in a BST on Reddit.
if you are into flight simulator possibly
>>109706003depends on how worth it that battlestation pic will be
>>109706046Already have one. The MSI QD-OLED super ultrawide is being sold on eBay for like half price and it seems very enticing thoughBut if there is tons of issues probably not worth it
>>109706003I like my samsung g9 49inch oled. Samsung is releasing a newer one with a better panel sometime in 2027.
>>109706148How is the compatibility for everything ?
>>109706186Most games run fine on it. A handful need ultrawide mods. You should look specifically at the games you want to play and their compatibility.
>>109706003Ultrawide is shit for desktop use, 16:10 is what you want. It's nice for vidya though.
>>109706003Just buy a 48"+ TV. Don't pay a retard tax and end up with less screen real estate. Don't trick yourself into thinking you need super high refresh rates, you don't.
>>109706046>3440x1440 34' and never look back. This but also a vertical monitor next to it dedicated to shitposting
>>109706241Ultrawide is exceptional at desktop use. A massive productivity jump. In gaming, ultrawides are mid unless specifically simulations. Standard content consumption is also mid.To recap, the specific use cases for ultrawides are desktop usage and race/flight sims.
I had one. Not worth it, it's,uch better to get two 34" wide ones or three 27" ones.
anything besides 16:10 is a scam
>>109706922But its WIDE
>>109706945so is 3 16:10 screens
Curved screens distort reality.
>>109706003No, ultrawides are only really good for video games. It makes maximized windows obnoxious to use. If you don't use a twm on linux, you'll be clicking and dragging and moving windows around a bunch so you're not constantly looking to one side of your screen.
>>109706003If you use a twm, you'd be opening extra windows just to keep the text contrained.
>>109707864Just toggle on floating mode.Ideally configure it so floating mode is the default until you have multiple windows open
>>109707873Then you have to move them around.
if you are a serious man, you buy 5k 120hz+ IPS or miniLed 27 inch
>>109706021Not everything is solved with two monitors. Started job with 2x24" and it was a nightmare. Every single worker who worked with 2 programs every day was happy. I use 3 remote desktops and 2 programs and it's an absolute shit experience, especially under win11.Had IT provide me a 34" ultra wide curved and I've never been happier in my job.
