If anything these are the arguments people actually make seriously against Lisp (it’s too old, it encourages you to change the language into whatever you want). Criticism of C++ is more like it’s a large sprawling mess with way too many inconsistencies you have to just know so you wind up fighting the language too much. You also have to write a lot to do many things efficiently which should be simple and fast.
