You're afraid.
You're afraid of immortality.
You're afraid of freedom.
The absolute and utter freedom it provides makes you shid&fard&seethe.
Every excuse I've ever heard has been complains about exactly two things:
>it's old
>it's too free
Let's face it, every fucking one of you pronouns want to create yet another "new" language just because of those two reasons. You're afraid of it because you're a stupid commie.

Who the fuck has ever said C++ gives you too much freedom? If anything these are the arguments people actually make seriously against Lisp (it’s too old, it encourages you to change the language into whatever you want).
Criticism of C++ is more like it’s a large sprawling mess with way too many inconsistencies you have to just know so you wind up fighting the language too much. You also have to write a lot to do many things efficiently which should be simple and fast.
