ngl I've been using SMT IV and V soundtrack at work. unironically this has been my commute song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdU01nQaJK4
Is it worth it to do some volunteering? I want to transition to something better for society but I want to dip my feet a little and see how more hospitability jobs would be.

I'm at a state in my career where I really want to take a step back and review my choices. I don't exactly want to advance my career but I want to put more meaning in it. How do I find better jobs or sus out bad corporations? I've worked for a lot of major companies in my country but the upper leadership team are filled with hogwash retards and middle management doesn't know what they're fucking doing. Looking for something smaller scale but dunno where to turn to.
>>109710774start your own
>>109710823I don't even know what to do. I could only think of a healthy protein breakfast place but resturants are a shit business and there's multiple reason why that hasn't been made yet. I don't really have a business idea nor the drive to really do a business unless I have a pal that can do all the leadership decisions.
>>109710856>I could only think of a healthy protein breakfast placemaybe you're better suited to middle management...
>>109710875What? I don't get it. Just saying, it's hard in the morning to just grab some quick fucking protein when I'm lifting in the morning before work. yes yes EAT ALLLL the eggs but sometimes I have no choice but to hightail it to work right after.
>>109710688>I haven't written a single code in 1 year>during this period I have deployed projects to various clients. They all work flawlessly, the quality of my vibe coding is too notch and bug free>Boss (boomer with 0 programming knowledge) vibe coded a complex app for a client himself>Coding is dead and I am afraid for my future. There is no question that coding is dead. The question is if companies will need vibe coders/managers to speak to customers, set requirements, QA and support the generated software and if yes, how big will this market be?
There's a few positions in my company that I want to go into but I'm not guaranteed to go into it. The only problem is that I have to tell my manager before applying. I don't have a good relationship with my manager or my team and I really don't want them to know I'm trying to "dip" since knowing how they act, they'll definitely overreact and boot me out ASAP to replace me. This sucks.
I remembered how nice normal programming was, now I'm sad.
>>109710931This has to be baitNo boomer could vibe code. I’ve seen the vibe coded applications that non technical people make and they are horrendous. And you’re delusional if you think AI doesn’t write bugs. Sure AI has completely changed development but it’s only taken the jobs from the already incompetent
Almost done SMT VV and I enjoyed it but a lot of people said the other mainline was better. Should I play I, Nocturne, or IV next? Any other recommendations?
>>109711539Go to any of the gamer boards anon.
>>109711556SMT V OPSMT Thread
>>109711539Nocturne is basically the same but with proper dungeon crawling instead of a middling open world.
If you want to be blackpilled, go to a tech conference and count how many of the attendees have a wedding ring. It won't be many.
>>109711638maybe it's because tech people are sociopaths
>>109711569Which ending should I go for? TDE?
>>109711638Crazy they are actually married but not during business trips.
>>109711638At my job, I'm the only one on my team (and even sister teams) who's single. Most are married. Some have steady relationships from what I can tell. Some... if not most, met their partners at the company even. I think most of my jobs have been like that... It's always just me who's alone, because I'm a pathetic loser afraid to talk to women.
So like i got ultra lucky last year and had a stupid start up idea get funding and i got into an accelerator with a few of my friends. The thing is we are most likely going to have enough money to last past the new year and it is unlikely we are going to raise more money in the next month or two to stop that from not being a thing. How fucked am i looking for a job in the new year? I met a lot of people at my accelerator and have a ton of connections on Linkedin but i don't think that will translate into a new software engineering job. What should i do to prepare myself now? I figure i start doing leetcodes again or some shit around when i know the bank account well will be drawing low.
gonna go insane if I see another tweet by "ravit akshit" about the new apple ceo
Today ain't it.Gonna fuck off this afternoon and try again tomorrow.
>>109711706I'm convinced some of them are lying to look normal. There's no way it's just me that's like this
>>109711638>some guy went to a conference and was counting the number of married peoplethis is stupid. conferences are a lot of young enthusiasts. even the biggest beta loser can get an asian wife.
How do I stop eyerolling at everything that happens during my team meetings? I don't give a flying fuck about anything they say and they keep talking in high level garbage and buttmunching.
Rewards cycle just ended. Might be I missed someone but the only person I saw laid off was an M2. Very unexpected
>>109711941>even the biggest beta loser can get an asian wifeI have hope?
>>109710688>legacy code editionI'm in legacy code hell.>Bought this company that went bankrupt like a decade ago>all of their shit is in super-updated Angular and .NET>"Uh just ask Claude to get it modernized :)"I fucking hate non-technical people who think that LLMs are infallible gods
>>109712022I love the Angular/.NET stack though. Doesn't have to be shit if it's done right
>>109711539Unironically SMT 3 (Nocturne) is the only good SMT game. It's the one I started with and nothing I've played (4, 4A, DDS, DDS2, 5) scratched the itchhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJf2sHjAanY>on topicI'm vibe coding some frontend tickets today :)Claude Code Opus goes brr but it burns through tokens like a motherfucker
>>109712022>>"Uh just ask Claude to get it modernized :)"AI is fucking retarded, it just told me:>Note: The movement is more "standard" than Prey or Deus Ex, but the writing and world-building are top-tier.It's fucking The Outer Worlds. It's more mid than Starfield because at least people still can't shut up about Starfield compared to TOW. Holy fuck are the top-tier paid models like this too?
>>109712012Yeah. She's gonna have buck teeth and a big hair mole and be a flip though. Also she'll cheat on you
>>109712055WRONGWRONGGGGGGGGGGGGAll of them are good. Imagine hating on DDS though couldn't be me.
>>109711989MSFT?
>>109712069>All of them are goodshit taste fatlus
>>109711638>the married guys stay at home with the wife and kids for xyz reasons and the single people get to have the funWow what a shocker
>>109712059Knew an asian american that dated a Flip i told him it was a bad mistake and she was out for his money. 3 years later he obviously lost half his NW to her. Dumbass if the military advises against it it must have a kernel of truth to it.
>>109712073Yea. Tbh I don't think that guys team does much, not sure what help he personally was doing. If the m3/m4 was told get rid of a manager, he would be the pick for me from my uninformed lowly ic3 view
>>109712074Name me ONE bad SMT game. Don't say Ronde.
>>109712106SMT 4SMT 5
>>109712117WRONG
>configure mclag on 2 dell switches first time ever>goes ok, time for some extended tests>can't ssh into one of the switches >I can sometimes ping it, seems random>turns out when you enable mclag it changes ALL vlan interfaces mac address on BOTH to switches to the same value thanks dell, very cool
>>109712123My opinion is objectively correct
>>109710931riddle me this: why would you vibe code an app? why not have the agent do the work directly? why not cut out the unthinking corpo drone endpoint instead?
>>109712140you can't even post this since you haven't played SJ
>>109712154I played SJ, I just forgot to include it in my list.Game is mid, difficulty curve goes from insanely easy to insane (Mem Aleph) at the drop of a hat and the demon co-op system is underwhelming

How do I treat a potential layoff as not a personal failure? I hate my company, work and coworkers and my productivity has dipped. My work isn't respected at all so I stopped trying but I know my bitch ass mind is going to ruminate and be like "you could've done better y'know." but fuck if I don't respect the work and team members why would I bother putting effort.
>>109712216>my productivity has dipped. My work isn't respected at all so I stopped tryingThat is a personal failure you retardDo you think that everyone loves their job and our jobs are 24/7 about trying to improve the human condition?
>>109712202Top 5 Jackie chans
>>109712216I busted my ass and it wasn't enough to dodge a company relocating my entre team off shore. Also, stay busy improving yourself when you aren't doing resumes. Hard to feel sad for yourself when you're busy.
>>109712278Thanks. That's true, I'm probably going to learn some side stuff but without a use case I feel so demotivated to learn anything.
>>109712278>>109712255>>109712216There is a middle ground. Do a reasonable job. Show up and do what is needed, if something is actually urgent attend to it. Otherwise take your time and have a day. Don't let people create fake urgency, or drop their work onto you, or try to get you to work extra hours. But still do your part and clock out. There is no point in busting ass, especially in this industry, but doing nothing is asking for trouble too.
>>109712362It just feels like doesn't matter how much input I put, no matter what I do nobody's happy but nobody's willing to take the puck to do anything else except just high level mumble jumble without laying out the details. like what the fuck man, what the hell do people want from me here I'm doing my best but you can't just throw me in the fire, I start dancing then bitch about the way I'm dancing in a passive aggressive manner.
>>109712089My obviously assburgers co-worker brought his wife to a company party and she was way hotter than I expected. Two years later she graduated from university and instantly dumped him and got half of his money. He learned about her leaving when the electrical company contacted him to update the contract.
>>109712047it is absolutely goated and has buttered my bread from both sides for a good while nowthe defaults are so sensible that even the stinkiest curry saar has a tough time messing it up
How does Python work in data analytics? I'm not in that field but I'm wondering the best practices on how people run scripts and stuff or where they're hosted.
>>109712425import pandas read a csv file with a billion lines
>>109712444So does a data analyst just run a script then feed the data to an email or something? Nothing centralized or automated? Dumb question I know but not really in that field so kinda curious how it even works.
>>109712420It's the most seamless client/server code relationship I've found. The structure is particularly necessary for the frontend where it's easy to fuck things up with bespoke spaghetti.I've built a few of my own webapps lately with codex and it's rinse and repeat, while still being perfectly modular and understandable. People make this harder than it needs to be.
>have security clearance>barely any jeetshit to deal with, talk to friendly recruiter that basically told me what to say during the interview to pass it, interview panel is all easygoing white boomers, didn't even have to show my face, and get offer immediately afterwardsit's literally that easy
>>109712520The most cut and dry easy town tech career would def have been to do ROTC in the air force or navy, get clearance, then get a clearance tech job. I just couldn't be assed to get up at 5 am in college lmao.
>>109712520forgot to mention the part where your salary is capped at 200k a year and you never do anything productive in your life
>>109712568a dream desu. Fuck this industry
>>109712568
>>109712544I did that except I went into faang instead and no longer have my clearance
