Some of those "auditors" in the UK are convicted sex offenders and wear them. I would not trust any man wearing them. The police don't even do anything about sex offenders wearing them in public.

You can, and should be able to, film in public. I just don't care - film me if you want to. The benefits of being able to legally film everyone and everything in public space outweigh the cons by a large margin.
