itt we list things about Mac that make it fucking annoying to use.In no particular order:- Can’t close windows directly from "Mission Control" view- Mission control view hotkey is F3, out of the way for something used so frequently- Can’t search from mission control, you need to use command + space which is awkward- Cant change hotkeys without installing some overpriced third-party tool- Control, option and command key all for the same thing but used differently in every app- App installation clusterfuck- installers are MOUNTED AS A VIRTUAL DISK from which you physically drag the app contents into the install directory. You then have to manually unmount the virtual disk. This is literally convention.- Menu bar is messy, shit just piles up forever until you manually close everything, so you end up closing the window once, then right clicking on the menu bar icon to close it for real.- Window management is brutal. X minimizes the window, minimize just hides it, maximize makes it open into its own desktop- Trackpad controls are abysmal, no real tap-and-drag- 1440p external monitor looks blurry because Mac graphics rely solely on pixel density- when it looks perfect on Windows and Linux- Built-in pop-up ads for iCloud subscriptions- Notifications never go away unless you set the option individually for every appI've only been using this shit for a couple days. $3000 MacBook Pro btw

You have to right click it and click "new window" if you want another instance in the current workspace. Custom appscript hotkeys to launch a new instance of an app that's open somewhere else are always hacky and janky as fuck and need to be made per application. It's like window management in macOS was fundamentally made for simple workflows without any consideration for multiple workspaces. I just want to be able to move to a new workspace, use a simple keybind to launch a new browser/terminal/editor instance and not think about it. Is this really that crazy? How the fuck are other people using their computers that this doesn't "just work" out of the box? I've tried for YEARS to just get used to it but it's just not good.To be fair, I don't know if Windows is any better in this regard, but for me, window management was truly perfected by stuff like dwm 15 years ago.At this point I'm just eagerly waiting for asahi linux to support display port monitors natively and maybe HDR so I can make the switch.
