I love Arch Linux but I'm tired of things breaking or changing with every upgrade.Thinking about Fedora, what do you guys think?
>>109721252Mint always. I switched from Mint to Arch because I was advanced enough to not need the 'beginner' distro anymore. I did like Arch for a lot of reasons, but I soon realized Mint is the best beginning distro for the same reason it is the best advanced distro - it's just the best overall because everything works.

Also everything is up to date except firefox that even Mint receives the latest version earlier lol. Just stay with debian and arch distros.

>>109721273Arch and Mint are the only two nixes I've ever used, and I've had way more stuff break on Mint than on Arch. It's also usually been easier to find fixes for Arch when something goes wrong because there's usually fewer layers installed/configured in whatever system broke.

I upgrade once or twice a year, it just works.
>>109721507I'm literally running fedora now and literally didn't need a github guide. add max_parallel_downloads to dnf.conf and then follow the instructions on RPMfusion.org. it maybe took me an extra four minutes of setup time to get everything on par with other distros. other distros whose packages are months out of date.

The only thing i really liked about fedora is that you don't need to use your password for every single thing like installing programs and it also has those nostalgic windows updates that you need to reboot and see the progress bar go up. Really good distro for a windows refugee i guess. But you still can't play a mp4 without rpm fusion so a winblows refugee will probably get filtered by that.

Sounds weird, I use gentoo and I have issues only once or twice a year.
who cares. linux is quickly turning into another coopted os with normgroids now installing linux at record levels thanks to organized jewtube shills. they will turn it into a bloated gay windows/gapple hybrid

>>109721252ive been using fedora kde for 3 years with 0 issuesi do have arch on my laptop and i dont think arch breaks a lot i think your configuration breaks a lot. if you run arch with the same sort of plasma desktop i run on fedora you'd probably get a similar experience to fedora with less setup.if you want the ultimate 'never breaks' setup try bazzite/aurora/bluefin. you really cant go wrong with fedora/universal-blue/arch/cachyos theyre all good the only differences are small tradeoffs in how much setup you want and things like that
I''ve daily driven arch for year now, and I have not had any issues. I was even reluctant to hop from dora/ubuntu because of that only to find out that it's more stable than those ever were kek.How do your installs break?
