5090 owners what's it like? It's crazy everyone who bought one didn't lose money on it they are all worth more than whatever you paid for it
>decided to HODL for a 6090
>>109722775>>109722795>tfw thought about 5090, then heard about 6000 pro>fuck it, one time splurge>mfw
what model could you even run with a 5090
>>109722775Should've gotten 4090 while you could, it's an overall superior card even if it's not as fast.I'll never have to worry about it cooking itself and all my other components alive and it has native physx support.
>>109722775this is what you get for being a waitnigger
Its so weird to live in an era where the same hardware is becoming more expensive instead of becoming worthless within a few years. It used to be the absolute worst investment.
AAA games really suck and its not worth it.
>>109722775Don't buy, it will burn >>109716531
>>109722775If you can't afford it, you won't be affording the rest of the hardware and the power bill that allows you take advantage of your GPU.
>>109722775it just sits there doing nothing all the time since my m5 max does all the work now
>>109723383>>109723043There's like a billion solutions to that now. Just get a thermal protect cable.
6000 series should release end of this year, right? ...right?
>>109724049then what? they'll get scalped and resold even higher than the 5000
>>109724049We're still waiting for 50 Super.
>>109722775Just buy on Amazon and return the box with a block of wood or something of the same weight.>But they'll check it.They won't. Amazon workers don't give a shit. You'll get a refund, and the seller will probably commit suicide or something because this happens all the time.

>>109724049They won't release it until DLSS5 is forced down peoples throats so people will have to upgrade for it.
>>109724049i doubt it. gddr7 24gbit 36gbps chips are entering HVM nowgr202 will end up as 144GB GPUs at some insane price instead. maybe later they can make consumer cards
>>109722775it fits nicely in my asshole, thanks for asking.
yeah nvidia isnt making any new gaming hardware in the next decade. amd and intel will but they're going to cost too much for the average user and won't perform well enough for power users. personal computing is dead
>>1097230435090 has better IO all around and is faster than the 4090 when limited to 300-400w
>>109722775its like having 60-80 fps in full hd in new games
>>109723125Because the USD shitcoin is devaluing at a historic rate
>>1097242929070XT is 2fps away from 7900XTXRDNA3 was a stupid person test, if you got it, you're stupid.
>>109724279nVidia will keep making gaming GPUs.>bbbut AInVidia, being the narcissists they are, won't allow AMD and Intel to gain gaming marketshare. It's true nV doesn't care about gamers any more, but they'll release new GPUs just to spite their competitors.
>>109724308>>109724292what will be like good mid range choice just for 1080p 60hz gaming without dlss/fsr bullshit.I have rx 7600 and in new games i have to go with fsr or leser graphics preset to make it run at stable 60fps. Should i even bother because that prices are insane and im gaming less and less
>>109724312that's a good point actually. make a few thousand of them, enough to put them on the market and keep people holding out for stock instead of jumping ship but not enough to cut into their ai profit
>>109724316If you can afford a 9070XT, get one NOW.The prices are slightly deflated over RRP right now, but as soon as the current stocks run through it's new memory pricing time.Don't upgrade to a 9060XT unless you can get one cheap and can sell the 7060 for a similar price on the used market.if you wanted nVidia, you've already missed the train on cheaper RTX5080, prices will still rise over time, but it's not going to be drastic (since that already happened)
>>109724334so like to play 1080p 60hz comfortably without worrying about optimisation or graphic preset i needed rtx 5080? wtf is this bullshit, 9070XT is it better than 5070? more or less same price where i live
>>109724049No, Rubin architecture datacenter GPUs just started deploying this month so secondary market pro GPUs will be 2027 and RTX will shift generations in 2028
>>109724308I know zoomers are too young and brain-rotted to remember, but that's how new generations of hardware used to work - with new architecture you would get last gen flagship performance on the new generations mid-range offerings (with less power draw and lower price that came with it).
>>109724389On the other hand i remember my parents bought me first PC in 2005 and year later it was dogshit because new console generation came out and everything need to be much faster
>>109722775I can't say but my 5080 stutters if I try to run Fortnite at 120fps.That's as much on the game as the card but still.
>>109722795I know that feel.. I thought 2500 was too much and prices would go down. I'm retarded and the economy is broken beyond repair
>>109722775Its like sex and Christmas every day
>>109722775>Big red penisWhat an ugly card. The FEs are way better>I want a 5090 so badBuy one on klarna
I have a 4080... Nothing I really need to do for a while. I would like to run bettrr local models, but what a 5090 opens up is kinda pointless rn.
>>109724389that happened once with kepler and never again
>>109724389Even mid-gen refreshes back then provided a full gen worth of performance (+30%) we're now getting every 3 years
>>109722775"Worth more"They are priced higher, but they still aren't worth more than 1000€. That's what they should expect when they rebrand titan into the consumer space and call it 90.
bought one a year ago for 2.6k€should i sell?

>>109722775stupid design imo. cool that its a 5090 but im sure they make cooler looking designs. wouldn't buy at 90% discount because it looks stupid
>>109722775>5090 ownersFire risk junk.
>>109725169Who the fuck would buy a used 5090?
>>109722775I used to be a software engineer now I work the absolute lowest rung of job at amazon.I can afford maybe a v100.

>>109725243I want 5090 performance with 200 Watt power budget on an amd gpu (for linux)
>>109725295you'll get that in 10-15 years
>>109725298Only with raytracing off and FSR will still suck
>>109725295It's looking like we're all waiting for Terafab before we get cheap consumer GPUs again. The wealth of Americans has been destroyed and is going down even more, mostly by the White uncle Tom Joe Biden. If the VRAM bottleneck could be fix they could probably sell reasonably performant cards to consumers cheaply, right?
>>109725352Im already sitting comfy on a 9070xt. I can wait on gpu upgrades for at least 5 years if it doesnt die for some unforseen reason. 5090 is only about 80% faster than a 9070xt and its power draw makes it uncomfortable to me. Not to mention the price ofc
It's fucking weird, every time I check it's increased in value. That's not how GPUs are supposed to work. The same computer costs 30% more than it did in the start of the year.
>>109722775Every month you stare at your power bill and you cry, cry bitter tears.Purchasing the hardware was the cheap part.
>>109725431Supply and demand and inflation. Inflation is high and AI demand (its a 32gb model) is very high. Production (supply) seems average, I have no insight into it. AMD GPUs are relatively affordable in comparison. Nvidia is smart to concentrate on HPC for AI because it brings in more money. According to Goldman Saxh global AI investment in 2026 is projected to exceed 1 trillion. That money comes from business, private and government (your tax dollers). It is not surprising in that regard that prices go up.
If you look at the lower end models like rx 9060 8gb and rtx 5060 8gb then prices are similar. Only if you go up the models the prices rise for nvidia sharply.
>>109725243>lists 3090 but skips 4090
>>109722775what THE FUCK are you niggers even going to use that shit for I bet you barely play any games and why do you even need whatever additional graphical detail this will add? you are not buying this for AI either so why do you even need that shit for? this can only be a commodity fetishism
>>109722775>5090 owners what's it like?i don't play games on it so idk. good for ai stuff but you kinda wish you had a 6000 pro the whole time since 32GB VRAM isnt all that much
>>109722775
>>109725243>GTX 1080TiAll that is worth having from your list plus it does not go on fire
>>109725547>good for ai stuffso useless? all that means is it generates faster than reading speed
>>109724090Never will happen. There's no reason for it. Current Blackwell SKUs are moving as. Rubin will most likely never see a non-professional release. It will Feynman once successor to PS5/XSX hits.
>>109725545>good things are badtypical commie brainrot
I got a 4090 in 2022 and this thing has been absolutely excellent ever since. Skipped the 5090 since it was only 25-30% faster, not good enough for the price or the 600W power consumption. RTX 5000 are really shit cards, like I cannot remember last time NVIDIA had such a small generational perf boost. I hope the 6000s are much better, if not with 2 gens from my 4090 I'd still hope to get a good perf boost with one of those.
>>109722775I tried the worstbuy 5090FE lottery, tried to get the base model PNY, drew a line in the sand saying basically, I refuse to spend more than $2400, prices never went down, so I said "fuck it" and bought a 4090D 48GB instead. I get a lot more done with that than I ever would with a 5090, so many damn things need 34-36GB and would not work on a 5090, I am very glad I did not buy one.
