I want a good mechanical keyboard. However, I don't want to be associated with mechanical keyboard reddit/gaymer culture. I don't care about these 60% abominations, custom etsy escape key caps for $20, modding my own switches, LED lighting, wireless, etc.

What should I be looking for? I found this one by tex with a trackpoint that I am quite fond of. I am not a gaymer so I can get by with just a trackpoint.

So you only want to larp?

Checked but kindly don't recommend this bullshit to anyone ever again

Just use a mac keyboard, the magic mouse is absolute shit i recognize that, but the keyboard is great
>>
>>109727010
No, I want a good mechanical keyboard to supplement my laptop's rubber dome keyboard. I had a mechanical keyboard 15 years ago before Reddit caught on and ruined the whole thing. It's just been so long since then that I don't know what is on the market these days.

I'm happy for you anon but I couldn't deal with the cramped layout and lack of dedicated volume controls (at the very least)

Mechanical keyboards are a meme anon. Just get a $1 logitech or dell from goodwill. If they're PS/2 and have a numpad they're better than 90% of the mechanical keyboards out there anyways.
>>
>>109727067
A proper desktop keyboard necessarily has space for a non-cramped layout. This cannot be argued against.
>>
>>109726998
I've been extremely happy with my logitech g915
it's (gay)mer as hell, but those low profile keys are perfect to me. If you care enough to change the backlight from all those rainbow colors it'll probably cut the gay factor by 80%
it's also really sturdy if that matters. Full aluminum frame

>Reddit caught on and ruined the whole thing
How did Reddit ruin it?
You mean that gamers use mechanical keyboards because they're good for gaming? That is kind of their point. You're associating with gamer culture because you're buying a gamer keyboard. Why exactly do you want one?
>>
>>109727108
Mechanical keyboards were used by every white man for years before the costcutting rubber domes came around to make keyboards affordable for normalfags.
>>
>>109727169
*sigh*
You just don't seem to get it. Now you're bringing historical reasons and some kind of weird racial identity things to the conversation. Originally, you said you don't want to be associated with "gamers". That's why I asked why would you want a gamer keyboard then. Now you're contradicting yourself ("gamers" and "white men" tend to be the same thing - both absolutely love spamming slurs and edgy jokes). Do you even yourself know what you want?

What that globe buttons does for people who are not using multiple languages? Who thought it is a good idea to put it on the edge? Some Indian dude?
>>
>>109727068
It's not the case anymore, chinks have ruined the cheap keyboard thing. They are so bad you can't even press a button reliably without it getting stuck. You'd have to literally lube the keyboard.

I forgot plebs know only 1 language lol, go ahead get the mechanical keyboard
>>
>>109726998
Just get whatever keyboard from keychron/lemokey is in your price range.
They're high quality "business style" keyboards. The kind of thing you could take to work or be given by your job.

> plebs know only 1 language
That's not me. I can use 3 different langs on any keyboard. Except apple keyboard, because that stupid button, placed there for retarded people like yourself, gets in a way of any normal person, who knows how to use a keyboard. Everyone knows you have a "Ctrl" on the edge. Not that globe or any of those Hebrew Apple symbols.

Unicomp Model M. Any other answer is wrong.

I really like my shinobi layout but trackpoint started drifting after 2 years of heavy daily use.
It's not overcorrecting backwards like old thinkpads but continues to move in the direction it was last moving.

Also keycaps suck, they used some extra retarded mold with super thin fragile stems (left on the pic) , combined with soft ABS they got all vobbly and jumpy and there is literally zero replacement for special snowflake sizes.
Unironically had to hotglue spacebar to stabilizers because none of the less destructive methods worked.
>>
>>109726998
Get a Realforce keyboard and call it a day.

I don't want a gaming mechanical keyboard, I want a typing mechanical keyboard.

I want to drink some water but don't want to associate with redditors and trannies who drink water as well. What do?

>>109727643
I miss when water was only for white heterosexual men and I want to bring back those times.

Cherry MX are pretty shit for typing on. ALPS (stopped making keyboard switches in the '90s but matias.ca makes clones and keyboards with them) or buckling springs (like the IBM Model M, clones made by Unicomp today) are what'll give you back the '90s typing experience.

>>109727633
How about I want a car that's just 4 wheels on a chassis with an engine and a steering wheel, and not this unholy glow-in-the-dark abomination which comprises 99% of cars on the road now because it's the predditor's Current Year peacock tail of choice.
