>Not sure what private trackers are all about?
A private tracker is an invite-only torrent website. Each member shares common goals: collecting, preserving and discussing media.

#ptg is on irc.sageru.org but it's pretty dead
Use >>>/g/ptg as a link to find the /ptg/ thread.

Remember the following:
>READ THE OP BEFORE MAKING A FUCKING QUESTION YOU RETARDED FAGGOT
>It doesn't matter if you use the same username in different trackers, the staff still share your IP with each other.
>Staff is reading, being /marked/ is NOT a meme, and even if it is, it isn't.
>Don't ask for invites, it's private for a reason.
>If starting out you should interview for RED, rank to Torrent Master, wait on account age, and get invites from there. THAT'S IT THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO.

BTN not recruiting anywhere is a crime against humanity.
>>
>>109732948
It happened before. They are simply the most incompetent of the big three and are struggling with staffing issues. They have gone through many recruiters over the years.
>>
>>109732948
just keep ranking up, letting your account age, and be patient. You'll get in eventually, took me ages to get into HDB after I was in PTP and BTN. They'll recruit again. For now something like HDB and TVV will cover like 95% of what's in BTN
>>
I've been in the fucking queue for a RED interview for over 48 fucking hours, checking fucking hexchat every hour, and then as I near the front, the gatekeeper does a netsplit and my position gets shuffled back to the END OF THE FUCKING 50 PERSON QUEUE ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING ME WHO PROGRAMMED THIS DOGSHIT BOT

and then after I get reshuffled again it once again starts netsplitting over and over but this time it's deciding to remember the order (I'm stuck at the end) I want to murder whoever wrote this javascript spaghetti code piece of dogshit and then steal the source code and make it about 100x more fault tolerant and reliable
>>
>>109732984
If you set notifications for when Gatekeeper leaves/joins you can skip to the front of the queue.
>>
>>109733017
How? Even when I tried doing the queue command when it rejoins, it just tells me I'm already in the queue, and keeps me in my place at the back of the line. It isn't starting a fresh queue, it's now remembering where everyone was

>>109732984
>make it about 100x more fault tolerant and reliable
Rustroon-kun...
>>
>>109733071
I joined in January of this year so it's possible that they've changed it by now. But considering you said you got sent to the end of the queue in your first post it's possible they haven't. You probably did it wrong.

>>109733111
I think what happened is I tried to do what you said initially, but I left the room and came back and then tried to do the queue command after the gatekeeper came back, but it just put me at the back of the line instead of refreshing the queue. You're probably right, they did change it, and now it's shitty and breaks all the time but at least remembers the queue order, so now I'm just fucked until I get to the front of the line again because I tried to do the requeue meme

>>109733106
this is prob more of a systems reliability/performance issue, everytime it joins back all the tards in the chat spam it with !queue and !position commands and the shitty little aws micro instance they put it on can't handle the load, and there's probably only a single instance of the bot running on a systemd unit anyways

Those podcasts are a goldmine of material from that specific era. All the mp3s are on archive.org and it seems the tracklists on youtube came from discogs:

scrape old anime fansub releases from jewsnet and perma seed them. there's tons that's not uploaded because people go for better quality, but it does count as valid uploads. mind you, there's 18 years of crap on usenet, plenty of it not on AB.

>>109737487
also mind the filenames. use web.archive.org to verify against fansub sites that don't exist anymore, and scan through anidb so you don't have broken files. sounds like a pain but it's about 15 minutes of work for every upload. beats the alternatives.

All of our optimism from past decades about how all this technology we created was going to bring about a wonderful future revealing it's real payload. Mankind being unshackled from the controls placed upon ownership of mass communication thanks to high speed cellular internet everywhere and smartphones in every pocket. Don't try to reason with neons
>>
There're some subset of films which are published at BLU or Hdb ... on their very RAW blu-ray format ; after that usually (NOT always) a remux group comes in publishing them on a HQ remux format AND sometimes adding an english subtitle track ... which is very convenient ...

... BUT ocasionally ... some films do NOT receive this treatment/improvement ... so ... I am considering joining BeyondHD to try covering these 'gaps' ...

Does it worth it ??????

To be a bit more concrete , here there are three examples :

- 'A Talking Picture (2003 - Portugal) [Manoel de Oliveira] vos' - tt0364093

- 'Voyager (Homo Faber) (1991 - Alemania) [Volker Schlöndorff] vos' - tt0102050

- 'Celestial Wives of the Meadow Mari (2012 - Rusia) [Aleksey Fedorchenko] vos' - tt2536306
>>
>>109741890

I used to torrent Top Gear and Doctor Who, now I occasionally snatch Taskmaster but the BBC has fallen off hard in recent years. Most of this is probably from Brits not paying for a TV license, not foreigners torrenting random shows

The future of piracy is third world whether you like it or not. We're going to see sites ran out of Africa where nobody gives a shit about any laws.

Nah. Private tracker boomers are happy to share with other people who share. This attitude you're so mad about is only towards the leechers.

My real opinion is that I support public piracy because it mostly serves to deprive large corporations of profits. Using public sources to pirate more niche material takes more effort than it does on private sources. My own preference for quality, curation, and convenience is why I prefer private trackers and I no longer feel as if I need to get into long running arguments with people on this website to defend that preference. I don't really care what happens on public trackers as long as corporations get hurt I'm happy.
>>
>>109748146
Just wait a bit and ask it on the related tracker so you don't get /marked/

EVERY POST I HAVE EVER MADE ON THIS WEBSITE IS SATIRE. I DO NOT CONDONE NOR SUPPORT ANY OF THE OPINIONS EXPRESSED ON THIS BOARD.

Any post associated with this IP is satire and should be treated as such. At no point has anyone associated with this IP ever condoned, encouraged, committed or abated acts of rule breaking or encouraging the breaking of rules on any tracker, especially golden rules, regardless of racial, ethnic, religious, cultural, psychological, mental or educational background.

In case of an investigation by any staff entity or similar, I do not have any involvement with this group or with the people in it, I do not know how I am here, probably added by a third party, I do not support any actions by the member of this group.

Dear RED/PTP/BTN/HDB/KG/AB/GGN/OPS/BIB/ATH/EMP/MAM

Any post ever associated with an IP I have or have had was me roleplaying or working out my psychological problems.

I have never supported rule breaking or leaking internal secrets. I have always supported the right to collect and share for all peoples and creeds. I will now become a productive member of our multicultural, pluralistic community and work to erase the kind of xenophobia and hate that led to this /marked/ status. No invite/account buyer/seller/trader should be allowed on any tracker. No good person would ever do such a despicable act on a tracker.

Checking if my knowledge of trackers is correct
>upload visual novel on AB and TL
>add TL announce url to AB torrent
That would get me banned from both trackers because I'd be reporting the total upload for both AB and TL to each tracker while the trackers would see that the total download amount is less than that, correct?
>>
>>109752354
So stop crying then. Being marked means nothing. You think these mods make whole dossiers about what their user base is doing online LOL

>>
>>109753172
Yes, although generally torrents on two different private trackers shouldn't have the same info hash. This is what the source field is for when you create a new torrent. What you're meant to do is add two different torrents and point them to the same file.

The staff should actually encourage everyone to post here all the shit they don't want to see on their own trackers.
If they want to read shit, they come and look here, if they want to read nice stuff, they stay and look inside the tracker.

The tinfoil hat is also useful against the HAARP.
Every time they start using that shit to manipulate the weather I feel a constant pressure on top of the head.
It stops when I put one on.
When the news says it's a weird weather due to climate change, I always feel that pain, the HAARP is on.

If you're uploading someone else's rip then don't change anything unless something is explicitly incorrect, unless you're talking about ripper credits which are trumpable so you should remove them.

lads my /ptg/ journey is almost at an end.
I am in ptp, btn, ggn, bib, ab, mam, emp, crt and ms. I am a few uploads away from asking for invites to hdb and tvv my holy grail of a tracker. I think I'll be /set4life/ which is exciting but also a little sad. what's next? maybe ops as a red backup? do I need backups for all my trackers?

The disproportion between the number of people who upload their original rips and people who just leech/reupload is depressing. It's enough to target ~200 people worldwide to shut down 90% of piracy overnight
>>
>>109756451
99.9% of the people targeted are the reuploaders so who cares.
>>
>>109756490
The only actual thing I'm amazed by is that that aforementioned TorrentLeech is still online after more than 20 fucking years. Their opsec is goated.

>>109756507
How many millions do you think the owners have made?
>>
i was just looking into lume to see if its worth grabbing as a backup. they are the only tracker that has a listed pathway to both desitorrents and desigaane. imagine how curry it is in lume if it's the pathway to designated shitting trackers. the idea of knowingly snatching something from and actually giving buffer to an indian user is terrifying.
>>
>>109756791
The big brain move is to cross upload from desitorrents and desigaane to other trackers to rank up and to gain buffer.
Autosnatching seedboxes are doing the rest.
