Hi /g/Would you rather an adjustable standing deskoran expensive chair like Herman Miller?Which is better for your health?
Expensive desk or expensive chair? I'd rather have the chair.
>>109733756Whoa! Look at that midget!
Just get a yoga ball
>>109733756i use something similar due to my bad back.
Just sit on an upside-down bucket, is what I do.
>>109733756Just move. Take breaks, stretch, do sports. Neither sitting nor standing is ideal.
Sit on the ground. Sitting/sleeping on the ground is like massaging bones, joints, ligaments, muscles all over your body for hours a day.
>>109733810that looks pretty nice actually do you know what they're called
>>109733810Aren't these bad for you if you're a man (male)?
>>109733873This. Get the most uncomfortable chair to make you want to get up every now and then.
>>109733756>no goyim standing up at your desk is totally healthy and not at all an additional humiliation ritual we want to inflict on youWhat the actual fuck.
>>109733900knee chair
Standing is worse than sitting. The real solution is to take breaks and move around.
>>109733810There are cheaper ways of torturing yourself.
>>109733873correct from an ergonomic stand point>>109733756you don't need to spend thousands on Herman Millers. Get an ergonomic office chair and you're good that also leaves you enough money for an adjustable desk. Then please adjust your chair, desk, keyboard, mouse and monitor height (most are way too high). You want your chair to move with your movements not sit still all day. If you have your muscles tensed (shoulders, arms, legs, back) in a neutral position something isn't correctly adjusted
This is the only serious answer.
OP you could save yourself the trouble of asking questions and getting garbage replies by reading a book on ergonomics...Long story short, you need both, and then rotate between sitting 30 minutes with good posture in an ergonomic chair, with standing for 15 minutes. Rotate like this continuously and also take eye breaks every 20 minutes or so. Go for a walk maybe every 1-2 hours
>>109734022but then what about the 6 hours long CIV7 gaming sessions?
>>109733756old and busted. new thing is hang inverted and typing sideways. some kind of mission impossible setup with pulleys and actuators with ai voice command interface. future is now
>>109734061just sit 30 minutes, stand 15 minutes, and repeat for 6 hours. Not ideal, but definitely way better than what most people do on a daily basis
>>109733756I have both a standing and sitting desk. Albeit, just a random ergonomic chair. No, I won't let the sunlight in
>>109734465>standing almost the same height as sittinghow small are you
>>109733756standing desks are great if you want varicose veins
>>109734515Anon... It's not elevated in that picture. It goes up to 46.5 inches (28.3 is how tall it is without any lift)
>>109734663just answer the Anon's question, Anon
Anon this anon that anon anon anon fuck off and die
What is the best desk position if I want to maximize my stroke/diabetes risk?
>>109733756Check if the lowest height of the standing desk fits your optimal position, otherwise you're only going to be fine ergo wise while standing. Cheaper to make a custom desk and get a nice chair.
