It never really worked in Windows 10 and later.
Those shell objects are hard-coded to appear under My Computer, and as such will pop into existence there if you open shell objects such as Documents, Downloads, Music etc.
As the parent object is hard-coded into Explorer (or more precisely, shell32.dll), there isn't really a way around it either - the only thing I can think of is a WindHawk-like injection that fiddles the COM/shell objects in-memory to make the parents something else.

Having Some Kind of Weird Firewall or Policy Issue:

In Control Panel > Firewall
It shows private networks is connected and state is on

If I go to newer Win11 settings > security > firewall > all 3 (private, public, domain) shows as OFF with a "turn on" button that when I click any of the 3, they do nothing.

If I click Allow an app through firewall, it doesn't show the menu like it should. It just shows a red X and says this page cannot be loaded.

Also sometimes when launching new programs, Windows pops up and it asks for firewall permission but only allows me to cancel, proceed is grayed out and it says in yellow some settings are managed by your organization.

Might be related to previous privacy/debloat tools I used on initial install like ChrisTitusTech's or Harden System Security by Violet Hansen is all I believe I had used. I believe one of the two also added a giant blocklist file of IPs which I'm okay with.

This seems to be an interface issue, as the firewall seems to be technically running okay from my diag.
I should be the only account on this machine, it's a local profile, and it has admin. I originally figured maybe one of those tools just created a new policy

I've also ran DISM and SFC tools a handful of times.
This has been an issue for a while now. I had installed this Windows about a year ago so I don't really recall a few of the things I did. Fresh install is not currently an option, want to fix.

I never use Windows Firewall.

Because you didn't upgrade a 10 LTSC install into an 11 LTSC one it would be considered a different license and you need to activate it again. It only takes like 20~30 seconds though.

Should I run get activated win BEFORE running any meme scripts? If I'm really picky about it, I'd assume that I can just run this on a vanilla installation fresh out of the box, exposing the machine to the internet for it to be done. And then somehow reformat or wipe the partition and do a fresh install?

Success, fresh reinstall, shutup10 from USB to toggle automatic driver install, Ethernet in, activated. I guess I'll wait until running more meme scripts and privacy scripts and setup some packet capture software first to see how much traffic there is out of the box, especially once i install NVIDIA drivers. I want RTX HDR but I also want to see how much telemetry there is, hoping simple wall and port master can block it if anything though.

Off to figuring out how many sata drives to reconnect...

All of the unused memory goes to storing preloading data to try to open most used stuff faster, it is freed when needed for something else.

It doesn't come with the enterprise tools so maybe lighter on drive storage but really these tools and features are light themselves and it's not that it all autostarts. It's just that with LTSC you get non of the Microsoft Account ecosystem apps (which typically do like autostarting) and the administrative tools given to you are handy.
So we don't know for sure:
Windows 11 Home =? Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024
But it really never is about lightness it's more about more control over Windows.

Why are webs not categorized as videos?
When I search for videos with kind:videos in file explorer webms don't appear. Also when i search for a webm with the start menu it appears under documents.
Windows can be really annoying sometimes.
I'm pretty sure this all happened after a windows update too.

About to uninstall this shit and reinstall windows again, every year I try portmaster it just breaks everything including its self. I didn't because windows 11 home generates thumbnails for webms by default (im not using ltsc cause i have a new laptop that doesn't support it).
Installing k-lite codec pack didn't fix the issue it seems. I'll try restarting my pc

Is my IoT LTSC activation failing because I plugged in too many hard disks, have a corrupt installation some how thanks to ticking all those boxes Rufus offers, or because I'm not signed in with a Microsoft account?

I've turned off everything so this is the only culprit I can think of. Not sure how much I can show, used hwid at first which seemed to work at first and it mentions being a volume mak license.
