I don't think the fears of pricing turning into cable packages were completely unwarranted though, to me there's no super obvious reason other than the implicit existence of VPNs that that did not happen. I would have expected ISPs to at least charge more for YouTube and Netflix which would then cause Google and Netflix to pressure the ISP to not do that probably.

I don't really understand the detractors, if all bandwidth is treated equal then that should allow for more competition between companies because the little website you make can compete with the bigger website.If the bandwidth is not treated equal then the bigger company is able to spend more to get even larger advantages.I love capitalism too, but I like competition more.
