NoThe chink components that go into smart TVs are so cheap and the manufacturing process is so perfected that it would actually be MORE expensive for them to produce and market a dumb TV as a separate product (which only a small subset of people would buy). So there is no incentive.

I am the owner of a Smart TV. It is made by Samsung. It has a large high quality panel. It was very cheap. I do not connect it to the internet. I understand that they subsidized the cost of selling me this television by assuming I would connect it to the internet and they could sell information about my usage of the television. But I don't do that. So I got a cheap high quality television with a bunch of features I don't care about. I just ignore them.You're asking the wrong question. You want a dumb TV. But a smart TV without the internet is basically the same thing. Before the smart TV era the media playback functions using a USB device or whatever were so primitive that you would just want to plug in an external device anyway. So you would be in the same boat with a dumb TV as you are with a smart TV without the internet. Are you convinced you would be paying more for features you are not using? Because clearly that is not the case if you look at the pricing trends. This is a situation that intelligent people can exploit.

Next I covered the entire back panel of the television with tin foil. I then covered the room itself with tin foil. Double RF insulation, take that you damn dirty glowniggers! But that's not enough. I am still worried a sliver of a signal of an open AP might sneak through. So I went to desperate measures. I installed wifi jammers covering both the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz bands AND a device I rigged up with a raspberry pi nano and a wifi radio that supports the injection of management frames to constantly spam deauth packets. Now I'm totally safe!

I should also note that I am not at all denying that modern TV menus are complete ass cheeks. The old ones weren't even good but making it laggy and shitty on top of that doesn't help at all. For our living room TV which is a Samsung I have done the best I can to ensure that nobody will ever see any screens related to Tizen. The family wants normie streaming, yeah. But the entire setup is handled by an Amazon Fire Stick. Even though Amazon is actively trying to make things worse at the moment and cramming more advertising in the interface doesn't lag and I am able to install apk files alongside using streaming services. So I have Kodi set up for streaming local TV channels and other than that they mostly just watch YouTube on it. The Amazon remote controls the power and the volume on the Samsung TV so everything is handled by just that remote. Of course the TV is not connected to the internet.
