My ThinkPad needs more steps to cross the freedom finishing line, but it's better off running a free GNU/Linux distro with some caveats today, rather than just any non-free distro.
It boggles my mind how 'linux-firmware' is now 4x the size of a regular linux tarball
>>109758356Why? >It boggles my mind that the generic part of the OS is smaller than the hardware specific part of the OS that has to support firmware for every chip and peripheral dating back to the 90's
>>109758416I was told one of the firmware blobs contained, I shit you not, "a full Linux kernel".
I have three free things on my laptop - Windows, Blender and PureRef and I donate to the last two
>>109757802I can't I need the vidya and no, Tux Racer isn't enough
>>109758458You can manually install Arch/Artix steam package into Parabola. You can even (theoretically) set another pacman.conf where you use Arch/Artix server, and manually use that to update your steam package, and then refresh to your original pacman.conf so your system didn't end up frankenstain'd.
yes, I got my hardware for free
Heres another impossible question for /g/ to answer:If I wanted to make a service or program or something that costs money to make/manage/etc, whats the best way to fund it?
>>109758540keep the basic one free and release a separate paid version with more features
>>109757802Yeah my work pays for my macbook and adobe suite, therefore it's free software to me.

>>109757802>free software>free hardwareThose people can't use internet. ISP have no free hardware nor software.
