It's a major problem in tech and it ties up trillions in resources and denies company talent because they get spammed with so many fake Indian resumes for each job opening that they're forced to close the posting and resort to other means of hiring. Businesses don’t hire candidates based on resumes they hire based on referrals. So this is a non issue.

I was called by a recuiter who contacted me because my CV had been wholesale plagarised by them including a reference and the recuiter replied to them that they appeared to have been given my CV and gave them my contact details. The recuiter was suspicios as I have postgraduates from UK and European universities and the candidate was Indian and in India and too young to have the years of experience. I referred it to the police along with the emails from my reference and the recruiter but the said they could not bring charges.. Indians are repugnant evil people.

Very very common in fields like nursing as well.
