What open-source fags don't understand is that RSS is dead as a user-facing service is not because the websites want ad revenue or some bullshit like that, but because people fundamentally don't want a chronological feed of publications from sources they're subscribed to. People actively want that and will not use a platform that does not attempt to provide that, ignoring a minority. People usually do not even want to read all or most of publications from the sources they're subscribed to, so why would they need a chronological feed that consists of 95% garbage?RSS doesn't provide such a system.
