What I've read so far is that IDScan.net is gonna be liable for millions of people's identity theft scams because none of them ever consented to allowing IDScan.net to keep a record of their ID. Look around, all the places that used IDScan.net, none of them told users they would be permanently keeping a copy of the front and back of their ID on file just because. And since no one consented to this company keeping their personal info, that makes the company liable for losses that result from the data breach of the company giving out all this personal info. Even in states that don't have laws against retaining personal data, most judges are willing to find damages when government documents are involved.
