>https://digitalescapetools.com/2026/09/mullvad-shutting-down-dns-quad9.htmlWho the fuck is Quad9?
>>109771631>Who the fuck is Quad9?retard
>>109771631Quad9 is my Dad.
>>109771631>Who the fuck is Quad9?that would me what do you want make it quick I'm trying to seduce your mother
>>109771631They used to call him QuadNein
First port forwarding, then the search engine, now this. How long until they abandon their browser?
>>109771631For fucks sake. Now I'll have to look for an alternative that doesn't filter AGAIN. Quad9 has repeatedly blocked catbox.
I hate these niggers. What DNS is the best now?
>>109771631>Quad9 is a free, recursive, anycast DNS platform that provides end users with robust security protections, high performance, and privacy. It was created by the Global Cyber Alliance, a non-profit organization founded by the City of London Police, the District Attorney's office of New York County, and the Center for Internet Security.>Quad9 was created, in part, by the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA), a non-profit that was founded by Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, Jr., the City of London Police, and the Center for Internet Security, with a seed investment of asset forfeiture funds provided by the Manhattan District Attorney.>Philip R. Reitinger is the founding CEO of the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA). He has been serving in this position since 2015. Before joining GCA, Reitinger was the director of the National Cyber Security Center at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as well as Sony’s senior vice president and chief information security officer, and the chief trustworthy infrastructure strategist at Microsoft. This was before they rebranded into a "swiss privacy dns". Transatlantic law enforcement creating a DNS service. Completely normal and not bioluminescent.
>>109772037Ive been using Mullvad since 2012. I'm switching because of this.
>>109772204but it doesn't affect paying customers. The internal DNS is unaffected, it won't be using Quad9
>>109771631Is there nothing like Tor but for DNS? So you don't have DNS server a centralized point of data collection?
>>109772646I know. It is still too fishy.
>>109772685What else is there though? AirVPN seems legit but the actual service is shit / slow.
>>109772701Probably IVPN
>>109772679There are .onion dns resolvers but they're gonna be slow, so you'd be best off running your own cached dns server in between so you're not waiting a half second for every cold request. You could achieve roughly the same effect but faster via DNSCrypt which can spread your queries through different relays (see your IP but not query) that talk to different resolvers (see your query but not IP)https://github.com/DNSCrypt/dnscrypt-resolvers
>>109771631>>109772037>swiss privacy
>>109771631Unironically I’ve used the cloudflare DNS for a long time, the only other ones I’ve heard people talk about are quad9 and AdGuard’s
>>109772037it can't possibly be more glowing than cloudflare/google/openDNS dns
>>109772037>Created by london policeLol lmao
>>109771631This seems like basically a nominal change, although I guess it could be annoying if you forget to change your DNS settings before it shuts down. Unles they have a bad track record I haven't heard about, it seems unlikely that Quad9 is any more or less private than Mullvad. Probably, they're just doing this for regular division of labour reasons
>>109773970>Created by london police>Lol lmaoThe City Of London Police, as in the original square mile, City Of London, the one with all the banksters inside of it.
Set up your own DoH DNS serverhttps://nochan.net/b/Internet-Crap/20260602-Set-Up-Your-Own-DoH-Service/or ask AI how to do it.
>>109772037lol yeah i'm done with mullavad then
>>109773327What is your usecase?
>>109771631Unironic glowniggers
I use NextDNS. I can't speak to the ownership or privacy policies or whatever. They claim it's a full no logs policy. I just use it to apply their safety and privacy features and blocklists. I was using Unbound on OPNsense but then I switched to Ubiquiti.
I used to use LibreDNS but it shat the bed every other month so I just bit the bullet and switched to cuckflare.
>>109771868You can't use 9.9.9.10? I never had that issue with Quad9.
This shouldn't matter to as many people on /g/ as it actually does :P>Elaborate. No, I'm tired. Yawnerinoooo...
>>109771868Looking for a trustworthy non blocking DNS as well. Anyone have suggestions? Does Quad9 glow too much?>>109773119>>109776226Interesting. Could I set this up and then point my OpenWRT router at it with Unbound? I'd prefer to use Unbound's recursive features but those aren't really private at all.
>>109771631>Who the fuck is Quad9?basically glowniggers>>109778052>Does Quad9 glow too much?they glow brighter than the sun and they're proud of it.
I just use the DNS run by the leaf organization that handles the .ca TLD
>>109771631Quad9 is based 8.8.8.8. Im glad to see the team up. I love how mullvad teams up with others. Its very cool.
>>109778060>they glow brighter than the sunWho do you use other than them then?
>>109771631>>109772037NIGGERWhat do I use now?
>>109772037>swiss privacyLol lmao
Just rent any VPS and use your own DNS
>>109771730no more than a few hours hopefully
>>109778555>>109778629use unbound you dumb fucks>>109778015have sex with me
