>apple comes up with a foldable 3 years after competitors
>still produces same utter garbage which breaks after a year
>still same old useless locked down OS unable to do anything but watching ads and wasting money on mandatory features.
Yep, apple being apple again.

Their solution to grease? Make the display matte so its not that visible

Lol
>>
>breakthrough

Why the fuck are people still trying to make foldable screens.
It barely works for one year and then it fails catastrophically.
It doesn't look good and it costs more than just buying one phone and one tablet instead of this abomination.
>>

I will never understand the appeal of foldable phones

All you have to do is buy the Duo and then trade it in when the Duo2 drops. Not that hard guy.
>>
Just watched a demo of it. It actually looks really nice. I won't be buying it at MSRP, but I will consider it once prices start to drop.

I do not understand modern phones, how the tech is stagnant and who is buying them. I have sen this push time and time again for foldable phones.. why? Because it looks cool? Phones now are basically somewhat smaller tablets that can make phone calls. Why are people spending 1,000's of dollars on this shit? Sorry to rant ,but for the last 10 years none of this shit makes any sense to me.

They're manufactured by Samsung but all of the technology is owned by an American company.

Imagine, a TV. But you can fold it in half.
[jazz hands]
>>
>>109777873
>why
you answered yourself, the tech is stagnant.
they've reinvented the wheel, made it a shiny alloy, incremented the model number by #1, and whored it to the masses. Now, they are making a wheel that folds in half, because even they ran out of plausible destinations on Bullshit Highway otherwise.
You can indeed fool most of the fools all of the time. Or at least those ones who purchase what is basically the same overpriced Apple trash with model number go up +1, every fucking year.

They provided organic materials for older OLEDs, new QD OLEDs is made by a different company.

Also, there is more to the display tech that just the organic compound.

Which Samsung foldables are IP68?
>>
>>109778909
Not to mention the actual folding screen and mechanics is fully developed and owned by Samsung.

Samsung also owns the stretchable screen patents.

the real question is how does it compare to the mate xl
