I never really gave it much thought but I like to charge my phone this way because I don't trust the USB-C to last the life of the phone otherwise. I also use it for mounting the phone in shitboxes.

Magsafe is 10/10 for car phone mounts. I hate apple and all that they stand for, but I can't deny magsafe is an excellent innovation.
