I just took a bitlocker encrypted drive from a dead DELL laptop, plugged in via chinese USB adapter to my linux box, entered a bad passphrase 3 times and then plugged it to HP EliteDesk 800 G1 with W11 25H2 and it decrypted itself! What!?
And? Is it supposed to lock itself after 3 bad attempts or something? Encrypted drives usually don't do that as far as I know. You just described the expected behaviour.
>>109780647It was supposed to stay locked when you pull it out of a laptop and plug it into another computer. Are you retarded?
Were you logged into the same Microsoft account on both machines by any chance? It backs up the recovery key to your MS account.
>>109780652and it stayed locked when he put it in his linux box. It only unlocked when he put it back into the W11 pc. He never mentioned that this was another pc btw.
>>109780684Different machines. Laptop burned motherboard. That's insane!
>>109780705It's a different W11 PC moron.
>>109780711In that case you are probably lying. Tell us the exact chinese usb adapter so that we can test it
Idiots, Bitlocker was made to lock YOU out of your PC randomly / when MS servers go down, not to protect your data.
