I have completely changed my mind about Large Models Anonymous 09/10/26(Thu)08:04:19 No.109780603

Specifically large language models as they are implemented in "AI" virtual assistant products like Google Gemini. Originally I despised this technology for all the classic "luddite" reasons.

But recently I was in a county jail and I met this guy who kept telling me about all his "AI" projects and trying to explain to me what it can do. The fact that he was infinitely less experienced in the field than I and was basically just a hood nigga who had one too many conversations with ChatGPT aside, I've since had an epiphany about these products. They are not the final form of the democratic average normgroid infested hellscape we've called the internet the last few years, they are the containment zone. These models are, just as all search engine results were about ten years ago, eventually going to be finely tuned to only seek information from sources that match the moral whims of their maintainers, and the rest of the web will go untouched.
I believe that through the revival of web rings and and projects similar in nature to Kagi will create the other half of a new "two-tiered" internet. One slopified mass and one refined community, just like the dynamic between internet users and TV watchers in the 90's.
