source on the other one(s)? I've casually found out about spicy-mayo only yesterday and it's still not clear to me whether it's based on Flash or Flash-Lite, I keep reading contradictory claims.
>3.8-flash MOGS 3.1-pro on every benchmark and usecase
3.8 Flash is impressive enough for a Flash model and generally quite usable for daily tasks, but 3.5 Pro must have underperformed quite badly, if we reached the point where they directly announced that they're working on 4 Pro.

Having really a hard time getting more spicy-mayo gens from arena, anyway. 10 runs: 5 amber_fern, 0 spicy-mayo. And captchas are becoming annoying, again. So, have another unrelated (NBP) picture.
>>
Got this when I took inspiration from Fembyro's no human should see prompt, and added a few things: https://files.catbox.moe/wdadd6.png

ftr, amber_fern *claims* to have been created by OpenAI. And it's quite consistent in how it replies, picrelated is my gen, it's nearly identical to the one I saw here: https://x.com/mirochill/status/2099107016895610942
I'm not sure about the Meta claim, to be honest.

Personally I think this whole nonsense is some kind of subterfuge to slow down the self-destructive competition to the bottom, erect barriers to entry, and to try and monetise a bit this whole thing. The genuinely interesting question is China and whether they just progress by leeching out SOTA western models like Amodei keeps whining about. Or not.

Close-up portrait of an comely young woman, shoulders above the steaming water, with her strawberry blond hair pinned up. Pale complexion glowing softly in moonlight, calm blue eyes looking just past the viewer.

She is resting in an outdoor hot spring in Yunnan in autumn. Thin mist rises from the warm water around her. Red and orange maple leaves frame the stones at the edge of the pool, some floating on the surface.

Night sky above with a full moon, and the moon's pale reflection shimmering in the rippling water beside her. Ethereal, dreamy linework, delicate feathered brushstrokes, deep indigos and warm ambers, quiet and serene rather than romanticized — focused on atmosphere, light on water, and expression.

However, I notice a few anomalies in the image. I'll rework the prompt later.

not how it works, GPT Image will do the initial noise latent state / stenographic watermark introducing errors (nothing confirmed or ever will be be OAI) regardless of the prompt

Underperformed vis a vis Fable 5, presumably? 5.6 Sol came after the initial deadline, but it might have contributed to keep delaying the whole 3.5 Pro model until . It's hard to imagine that there was any other reason for the perpetual postponing of its release since the announced late June release date.
>>
>>109810123 (Me)
>delaying the whole 3.5 Pro model until
... until it might have been retired without making any announcement about it because the optics would look terrible.
>>
>>109810123
the playbook for google isn't about going all-in on iterating massive trains. it's about using their stack dominance to achieve multimodal general models for the average ai consumer. looking at this logic, it's easy to reason that 3.5-pro wasn't tuned to be competitive in the areas everyone's looking at. said areas have nothing to do with multimodality, ecosystems, usecases, etc. they're strictly based on mathematical logic and instruction-following. this is not something gemini has ever specialized at.
>>
>>109810199
Well, the theory about Google's long-game makes enough sense. But then again, why didn't release 3.5 Pro on late June like announced, then?

>>
>>109810224
>why didn't release 3.5 Pro on late June like announced, then?
the theory i'm shitting right now is that they stumbled upon a gigantic foss breakthrough just as things were wrapping up and said, "no, fuck that, the checkpoint we have now will be obsolete in 2 weeks from release".

glm 5.2 and stuff? That's a possible guess, it might be even more likely, but at any rate we're left with the fact that the model underperformed by whatever parameters they actually chose to follow. And with no new Pro checkpoint, no new Pro-based Nano Banana either. And that's a bit le sad.

I guess I understand it now. Thanks, anon.

It's not really so serious, to be honest. I almost fear they might make the model worse, if they will update it, so it's not necessarily all that bad if they don't do it for a while longer. Google is likely playing a potentially dangerous game with its semi-accurate reproduction of actual styles.

A masterpiece oil painting in the definitive Pre-Raphaelite style of Evelyn De Morgan. A comely young woman with an alabaster skin complexion and luminous, light-colored eyes. Her long, straight, dark chestnut brown hair cascades over her shoulders. She is dressed in a simple, draped white Roman toga and a crown of fresh white flowers. She sits languidly in an overgrown, sun-drenched Italian garden on a sweltering summer's day. She holds a delicate silver spoon, tasting a scoop of pale lemon sorbet from a porcelain bowl, a look of blissful relief on her face. The scene is bathed in the golden, hazy light of late afternoon, creating long, soft shadows. The atmosphere is thick with heat, visible as shimmering air above the sun-baked stone path. The color palette is rich and warm: glowing golds, deep crimson from climbing roses, verdant greens, and the creamy white of her garment. Extremely fine brushwork, luminous glaze, ethereal beauty, high detail, 8k.

Not true. One way to "step outside" is to get more different subjective views. If you get enough of them and combine them, you might be able to get close to seeing the objective point of view. Or the opposite direction, which is called thinking from first principles. It abstracts away as much subjectivity as possible, so it also can lead to something close to an objective point of view.

Although neither, not even their combination, is omnipotent. Because thinking requires resources, thinking process itself exist in the real world, not in the plain of ideas and thgouht experiments, where everything is possible.
Therefore, it's a hard computational problem being a problem, not the point of view. Continuing Archimedes' analogy, we might not be equipped with a sufficiently large lever, regardless of our point of view.

To put it simply, your Archimedean point of view would depend on what you are trying to observe. It does not have to be a singular point in a special magical place. Then usefulness of that point of view is determined by your capability to actually build a model of what you've observed. Does not matter if you have God's point of view, if you're blind.

Archimedes was right.
>>
Or was he? It was probably someone else using his name. Does not matter.
>>
>>109819041
An *approximation* can be useful in certain, specific, contexts, but it is not the same as an *objective* point of view. And "first principles" are still human symbols, they don't allow you to step outside the human cognitive system in any way whatsoever, no matter the level of abstraction, you're not looking at matters from the *outside*, at all. I think you're basically moving the goalpost towards some kind of local, relative, truth/Archimedean-point; but in my opinion that doesn't make my statement "not true" in a strict sense.

I got a few boobs while trying to get a gen for this, lol:
