I'm looking to put together my first (simple) hi-fi setup for my living room. Ideally I would want to have compatibility for my CD player, record player, TV and PC and can manually switch inputs. Any recommendations for good integrated amp and speaker combos around the $250 mark? Are powered speakers worth it in this price range? What are some good starting points for getting into this hobby. Fed by XLR from a mackie 8 channel mixer. Two PCs using FiiO DACs with balanced out to the mixer. HTPC to TV via HDMI then SPDIF out to a DAC with balanced out to the mixer. A set of JBL studio monitors with the matching sub. It's not loud but it sounds good enough and has done so for probably close to a decade now.
