the most expensive thing here is the subwoofer. the dac is 2 apple dongles and the speakers are mr4 EQ'd to harman using an umik-1 and software (rew for measurement, peaceapo for eq and voiceemeter for the crossover)
>>
>>109837261
Oh are you using two dongles like one for the stereo speakers and one for the woofer? voiceemeter lets you software mix that?
>>
You left out headphones, and that's all I use my gear with.

Movie setup:
Amp - Yamaha RX-V483
Klipsch R-51M L/R
Klipsch Reference surrounds and center
Jamo 200 Sub (it's a small room)

Living room:
Amp - Denon AVR-2113
Jamo E850 L/R
Jamo E8CEN Center

Guest bedroom:
Klipsch The Sixes
Sony HP-215 Turntable

Main Bed:
Panasonic SC-BTT785

I found most of this stuff at thrift, even the Jamos.

>hi-fi setup.
It's hardly a setup but on the desktop I have:
Presonus Eris Studio 8, 8" monitors
Presonus audiobox go interface
Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro headphones

For films I have two KRK Rokit 5 Gen 3's under my TV, literally connected to the headphone jack on the TV.
It's good enough for me.

NTA but be glad you don't, I'm autistic about cable management and OP's setup would drive me mad.
I've gone to extreme lengths to hide all my cables.
>>
>>109839314
i like the look of nicely managed cables, but at the same time know how frustrating it is to change a nicely managed setup, so i tend to only do it in places where things are very much permanent, or where space is a premium. so like i wired up a friends' camping trailer tidily, with everything cut to suit and firmly attached to the walls, and my server rack is pretty tidy, but my computer desk? behind my tv cabinet? couldn't be bothered.
>>
I have massive 90's mystery brand "da-s 16" bookshelf speakers made in canada ($25)
Hooked up to a Fisher soundstage rs-930 ($35)
Audio input is mp3's and youtube from my computer, via aux

That is my current setuo. My old setup involved some broken hercules djmonitors that I had gutted and converted into passive speakers, then nailed them fuckers to the wall.

That's not minimalism, that's poverty or no taste.
Minimalism isn't about making your room empty except for 2 random furniture pieces, it's about simple and timeless design.

>>109839531
At some point you have to accept that people have different priorities.
It's not about money, or how busy someone is, some people genuinely don't care about good interior design or clutter.
I mean functional people with a job and family, not hoarders and disgusting slobs who never clean or wash.
>>
>>109839590
That's fine, that's the "no taste" part I mentioned. Calling this "minimalism" is wrong though.

shit man, that's pretty near the dream setup I'd want too. Are the klipsch speakers good? I heard mixed reviews on them. I'm reluctant to buy them on account of being afraid they won't sound good enough, I want something with ultra clean highs, almost unnaturally so.

Yeah I agree it's not minimalism.

>>109839606
I agree it looks like shit, I'm just learning to accept that other people are not as autistic, if it works for OP that's his choice.
I described my setup here - >>109838368 this is an old photo, I've since drilled a circular cutout through the brick wall and put a cover/grommet on it to make it neater.

>>
>>109839712
You learn to make the most out of it, I used to live in a much larger apartment with my ex, after moving here I realised how much of a luxury living space is.
But a man can turn even a shoebox into a comfy living space.
>>
>>109839780
I like your attitude and wish I were more like you
Godspeed anon
>>
>>109839645
Because I listen to music that benefits from it (kraftwerk, yello, etc) and in my experience better highs mean more pronounced directional audio with multichannel setups (quad channel or atmos mixes).
>>
>>109839886
Just EQ the ear rape in then. If you want better imaging and directionality then you will want speakers with narrow dispersion to avoid reflections.
>>
>>109839276
That looks like a rat's nest of cables as well. It's not like I have an empty room. My cables are barely visible because I put time into the things I have and want my place to look nice. People just buy shit and plug it in with the cables all willy nilly all over the place and it looks like shit. No amount of cope you post will make it anything less than an embarrassment.

kinda sad. your setup deserves a better DAC. it's not only about the DAC chip, it's about power supply and implementation as well.
>>
>>109839519
nice speakers but I'm allergic to those commercial amps.
also absolute peak setup is independent channels filtered with DSP on low level signal, no passive crossover nonsense in speakers (phase shift nonsense)
>>
>>109839519
I've seen you post enough that I actually want to beat the shit out of you. You are so fucking annoying, I don't even understand how but you're in every fucking thread ready to post the same pictures over and over.
>>
>>109838961
you are posting this from an actual third world country though.
>>
>>109839600
that is a taste. also taste is based on internal mental issues, not even joking.
clean minimalist setups are preferred by people with a clutered life outside of home. chaos at work, they tend to go for minimalist setups at home to counterbalance the chaos.
same for people with strict minimalist oppressive work (corporate shit), they tend to go for rustic shit at home, dream of cabins in the wild setups that kind of shit.
your taste is never really yours. that's just a story you tell yourself. it's just a side effect of your life.

>>
>>109842846
You are an annoying person, it has nothing to do with jealousy. At first I liked what you were posting, but then you kept posting and it was the same thing, over and over and over. Even the other anons that post their setups over and over usually have something different going on with every picture. But with you it's like I'm dealing with a horse girl.
>>
>>109837274
Yeah but you need at least banana edition for that. It also locks the system volume so you either need to use hotkeys or a terrible app(voicemeeter windows volume).
>>
>>109837626

>>
>>109842921
>You
I'm not the guy who posted that setup, retard.
And you are jealous, by the way. Envious, rather. This probably stems from childhood, meaning you have deep, underlying issues that need to be dealt with.
>>
>>109842823
>nice speakers but I'm allergic to those commercial amps.

Denons are the best quality commercial amps, for anything higher you need to get either a NAD or miniDSP that costs 10x as much, or individual monoblocks per channel plus a preamp that costs even more.

I mean the x2600h may not be the best but iirc anything from x3000h and x4000h class is top tier. x2000h class is still feature stripped, anything above that has full feature sets.

I just use my pc as source (AE-9 optical to parasound). kinda want to get a second AHB2. I've got a nice car setup but I'd struggle to call it "hifi", Audison Bit One to Voce 5.1k, full active to Focal KX2s, sub channel went out on the Audison so I got a JL M1000 for my 12" JLW6v3. always fun pulling up next to someone playing shitty trap on factory and drown them out with The Beatles. This is all stuff i've bought here and there over the past 12+ years.

Ah okay, thanks.
Voicemeter can only do two hardware outputs tho I read?
>>
I'm looking to put together my first (simple) hi-fi setup for my living room. Ideally I would want to have compatibility for my CD player, record player, TV and PC and can manually switch inputs. Any recommendations for good integrated amp and speaker combos around the $250 mark? Are powered speakers worth it in this price range? What are some good starting points for getting into this hobby. Thanks frens
>>
Good speakers for PC? Also good headphones if I like listening to grunge/alt rock?
>>
Fed by XLR from a mackie 8 channel mixer. Two PCs using FiiO DACs with balanced out to the mixer. HTPC to TV via HDMI then SPDIF out to a DAC with balanced out to the mixer. A set of JBL studio monitors with the matching sub.
It's not loud but it sounds good enough and has done so for probably close to a decade now.
>>
>>109843116
bro it has pcm5102 DACs inside:
https://www.adafruit.com/product/6250
plus a lot of digital shit inside it. I'd rather have a full analog amplifier, and keep digital separated and purpose built device.
these integrated shits are not my jam. works for people who want to have convenience and have it look "modern" in their rack or whatever.
I'd rather DIY some proper stuff.
