vista is more consistent and straight forward than modern linux
also more futureproof. lets see you use a 2007 linux distribution in 2026 without having to gut the fucking thing. forced obsolesence is forced

I actually quite like Windows 7 as a Linux user

I think he meant using a version of any Linux distro from 2007, which in the case of Debian would be Debian 4

It's been 5 years since I last daily drove 7, and honestly now I think Aero is pretty ugly in hindsight. I'm still pissed at Microsoft for removing the classic theme, so at least 7 still has that going for it.

yes

no

your CPU is held back, retard.
>>

Flawlessly indeed. Too bad you're losing in benchmarks to fully bloated Windows 11.
>>
>>109845434
At least I can still run the same distro I was using when XP came out. Now you're forced to chose between learning Linux the way I did when I was 12 and didn't know any better, or Windows 11.
>>
>>109845422
X3D Core Parking, UEFI CPPC2, Symmetric Multiprocessing. Windows 7 cant cope with any of this. what the fuck are you doing.
compare your benchmarks with the same CPU running on Windows 11 and prepare to burst into tears

Pretty sure Windows 7 can't do BAR bigger than 256M either. Although I suppose it doesn't matter with Nvidias vibe coded driver because it somehow manages to lose performance on Windows.

But yeah no joke, there's a massive performance drop thanks to Win7 having no idea about chiplets alone.

Compared to what, Linux? It's worse on Linux and normal on Windows. Nvidia drivers have been the best they have been in a decade, don't know if you zoomies don't remember how shit it used to be. Even AMD was better at that point.
>>
>>109846742
I don't know if nvidia loses performance from having the BAR set to a normal value on Linux because the Linux driver is different from the Windows driver and uses the GSP processor on the GPU which changes a lot. I am not going to make a claim I don't know.
>>
>>109846852
As far ReBAR goes, you're probably right. I thought you meant in general.
>>
>>109846863
Of course I don't mean in general. Game performance is literally worse on Linux across the board, but neither Intel or AMD loses performance from using ReBAR on Linux or Windows and I have seen no evidence that nvidia loses performance on Linux. I do, on the other hand know for a fact that on Windows nvidia does lose performance and it even has a retarded whitelist for it lmao.
Which sucks if you're trying to play a game that actually needs it and it's not one on nvidias whitelist. Have to manually force it on.

It was made by white people.

Durgasoft jeet industrial complex was only in its infancy and the jeet that is now microslop CEO was still eating cowshit in his backwater village by some poo infested river where they bury corpses and then fish in.

>>109846907
Oh by the way, the actually added option to turn on ReBAR forcefully per game in the official Nvidia App now, previously you needed NvidiaProfileManager, so it's still a whitelist but it's easier to test yourself now (probably hurts retards more and people who knew how to enable it for any game previously don't give a shit anyways and still use NvidiaProfileManager)
>>
>>109846934
Yeah I know. They should fix it so it doesn't cripple performance instead. This whitelist bullshit is just working around having to fix it.
Nvidia still doesn't support GSP on Windows either. GSP would lower driver overhead, that's why it's possible to get higher frame rates on Linux with nvidia in some scenarios where the bottleneck is CPU.
>>
>>109846981
Yeah, don't pair Nvidia with a low end CPU on Windows. The bottleneck pretty much disappears though with high end CPUs, even when there is an overhead.
Poorfags don't buy Nvidia and non-poorfags don't buy shit CPUs, so nobody cares enough.

Stop pretending you used anything before Windows 7. Nobody would think Windows 10 is "based". 10 is what you get if you stuffed 7 full of ads and dialed telemetry from 10 to 11.

Installing ClassicShell was the only fix win 8.0 needed. Faster boot times, faster wddm, better optimised. Those who know, know.
