We dont have people teaching on how to make semiconductors and electrical components. Electrical engineering curriculum is exclusively on electrical layout, not the actual manufacturing of components. You could ask a PhD to make an led, they wouldn't even know how to start. The fact is a lot of stuff in engineering in the real world is trade secrets. The people in taiwan making chips didn't learn it in school they learned it through giants like tmsc. That's why China is reverse engineering fab machines and poaching tmsc employees.If they want the workers they actually need to hire moldable fresh out of school electro mechanical engineers and actually train them.
